Happy as Larry !
I'm told some of the coaches are a bit suss on Faulksy's kicking, but they can work on that.Stoked with the Perth boy, I reckon he'll play a few next year at least.
Got to be happy with Freo at the moment !

He's effectively replacing Taz though and Taz never got huge stats. His role will be purely a defensive one and we'll use McPharlin, Silva, Ibbo, Broughton and Duff to move the ball out of defense.

Dodd and Hinckley to go as well.

Also wouldn't Ruffles be placed on the LTI list allowing a rookie to come in for extended time?

Yeah, Dodd and Hinkley are gone in addition to all those hedgehog listed. So we'll use three picks in the ND, upgrade a bunch of rookies, and bolster the depth with some senior listed players.

Not bad, all round. Faulks for Tarrant is a short term negative, but he will be a long term player. If he's a one on one player as Scham said, then that's equivalent to what we used Tarrant for.

I'd say Mzungu is easily a better of any of Hinkley, BO'B or Hall.

Griffin adds more than any of Dodd, Murphy or Thornton in the role he'll play.

So what we're hoping for is some draftees that are long term players for Freo and meet the departing class of Hasleby and Headland.

My general thoughts is that if we draft well, our list will have improved once again.

Can Michael walters fill any gaps in the midfield?

Can Michael walters fill any gaps in the midfield?

Too right! Providing he continues to develop the way he has then definitely.

I think alot of people on this board overlook that.

We need 10/11 good quality full to part time midfielders in the team.

1.Palmer
2.Mundy
3.Pav
4.Hill
5.McPhee
6.Broughton
7.Walters
8.Ballantyne
9.Fyfe
10.Morabito
11.Suban
12.De Boer
+ Barlow later in the year. Then we've got Crowley, Mayne, Crichton, Mezungu, JVB as depth plus whoever we draft. You'd expect us to take 1 midfielder at least.

Hall, Solomon, Haselby, Headland, Thornton, officially...Murphy has said in the media he won't be there next year

The rest they said they would leave until after trade week/final list lodgement

The only offical delisting was hall.

now we have barlow, silva, de boer and jvb all taking the places of
Solly,haze,dessie & billy bob.

so with hall gorn we need to delist at least two or three if we want three/four picks.

If we want to take more in draft we could create more room on main list be shifting Buca and hinkley to the rokkie list??

Tarrant was a very good field kick though.
I have heard this new Faulksy fella might be a bit suss on field kicking as well.
They'll work on him, I'm sure.

I realise Taz was/is a good kick but the point I made is that he wasn't required to do so in the role he played. He averaged only 3 or 4 kicks a game and all of those were across the ground or backwards to a target 40m in the clear. Columbo will be fine.;)

It's still a worry. Remember Dodd's out of bounds on the full in the Adelaide game?

So it seems that pick 20 could be vital.

mid or mid/utility prospect

or

KKP prospect

So do we go best available or do we target what we need at our stage in the clubs phased rebuild ???

should've traded Schammer and Dodd to the eagles for pick 5 or 6 or whatever their best pick is lol :)

may have stopped all the eagles fans whinging about them not doing anything except off-load players

also would have meant we'd be 2 less duds on our list and have a great high pick

Best available in my opinion. We have two positions we don't need; ruckmen (Sandi, MJ, Bradley, Griff, Clarke & Moller to come) and half back flankers (Suban, Broughton, Mzungu, Ibbo, Duffield, Roberton etc.). A nice inside midfielder, a skilful winger, another KPD or KPF; anything will be useful. As is the case in most drafts, there will in all likelihood be a player that slips from the top 10-15 to be available at our pick. I'd love that player to be Jack Darling, quite a few phantom drafts have him 15-25. Luke Parker is another who is floating around that area (10-20).

Keep in my mind our last three first round selections have been WA players.

Will Cook slip down to pick 20? He seems a likely type for a KPF

He'll be around the place.

The only thing that puts me off him is in his profile when asked what player he resembles and bases his game style around he answered....Brent Staker:eek:

Hamp, Mitchell or Sinclair would be better maybe.

That's a good looking list - 3 new kids on that and I'm stoked for this year. What is the average age of our list now, and average games?

Nevermind - figured it out myself :)

average age of 23 and 6 months (as at today) and 66.4 games changed to 23 and 1 month and 57 games

Hinkley provides us one thing, someone to delist next year. I'm sure Grover only has one more year in him, it will be nice to see him hit 200. Not sure were the third delisting will come from.

Hinkley gets this year to prove himself otherwise he will go next year. We need three spots on the list every year.

Hopefully they rookie list Bucovaz.

The whispers around the place are that Reece Conca is firming as our first pick in the draft. Also, Anton Hamp is forward in our thinking but he may last until our second pick whereas Conce definitely won't. Depends if we want to go tall or short?

I think you're right.

Next year will see:

Hinkley - Delisted
Grover - Retired
Roger - Retired

I'm a bit Nervous about Conca being firmed for our 1st draft pick. I'd also like to think that since we don't have the same calibre of pick we've had in the last few years that we'll look at the best available whether that be WA or not. Isn't Conca's disposal questionable?

I'll admit that I've only seen a youtube clip of him but he looks a bit like a red headed Paul Chapman to me
