Is it actually confirmed they will be doing 10-1 countdown again? It annoys the shit out of me. The great part about the draft is who will be the first name called. It's tradition. It's great.

But we all know the AFL, "let's continue changing things that aren't broken, until people don't know what the **** is going on."

Your still going to get the 10-1 countdown if you listen to SEN.

I'm presuming the SEN coverage dedicates a lot more analysis to each pick in every round.

AFL.com.au had the live chat with Paul Daffey, and had a list of every player that had nominated for the draft in there tracker. They updated the live selections as it happened in the tracker. No live streaming I think though.

Unfortunately Fox Sports coverage is just a 90 minute Dick Measuring contest between Jason Dunstall and Liam Pickering, with Shifter Sheehan looking on awkwardly and try to interupt occasionally to talk about the Draft.

SEN is the way to go if you want to hear selections as they happen.

In fairness, last year you could push the red button and go to a "live draft" coverage where they just went around showing the picks being made.

It was poorly executed, as they played the same audio as the main feed for the first few minutes, and the cameramen seemed not to know where the tables for the different teams were, but they had the option there.

Hopefully it will return, and they'll do a better job pulling it off this year.

Fair enough. I recall they were playing the same audio from the main feed when it started, so I assumed it hadn't improved on their 2009 effort and turned it off.

I might have it on Five AA for the Port pick just to hear Rowey and Cornesy's reaction, but then it's straight to SEN for me.

Don't forget the Brownlow Count. They totally ruin any suspense by re-ordering the reading of votes so the winner's match gets read last each round for the last few rounds of voting.

It was apparent Swan was winning this year's medal with ages to go, simply because they kept reading Collingwood game votes last. FFS, rushing through every other game and then pausing 5 seconds between initial and surname of the eventual winner is not a way to build suspense!

The red button option was on last year anyway, while they interviewed we could use that option to watch the rest of the draft...

While our format is harder to televise than the NBA (being there isn't 5 minutes in between picks) it should be modified, but the NBA format can be adapted.

Assuming a proper order of 1 then 2 and so forth like a normal draft, pick one is made - commentators slip in a couple of words over footage of him at the draft and handshakes etc, continue for first round. End of round provide some highlights and analysis, sliders etc, all nice and quick, before returning to round 2 and repeat until end of draft where you have a couple of player interviews (or you could have one or two in the round breaks), club by club analysis, sliders, bolters, etc etc.

Hooray. Just show picks live so we can tell who got who.
