Schoolies this weekend. Any chance we can orchestrate a couple of outrageous photos of Francis and Milera laying apparently passed out next to a line of sherbet? It would of course just be their mates playing a joke on them, but they could also accidently leak the pics on to twitter.
Could almost guarantee they slip to 9 & 13 then!

Mmm .....someone was .....been my signature for 6 weeks

Got in before both Curnow and Oliver became popular ......none of this Johnny come lately stuff
Morrish Medal was 9 weeks ago, you changed your sig 6 weeks ago, so you actually jumped on board after he won. That doesn't make you a guru, it actually makes you a Johnny come lately

This is the key bit.. Good players found their way into the starting team, just as they have since time immemorial. It was only the mediocre players who found themselves on the fringes who found themselves constantly being selected as the sub. It didn't hurt their development - they just weren't/aren't good enough in the first place to push beyond the fringes and into the starting team.
Like I said in my earlier post, Lyons has played ~23 games and Grigg has played 15 games in the past two seasons so they've been good enough to make the side a bit, but it's quite hard to prove much when you get ~20% tog for half of those matches when you wear green.

Without the sub rule they'd be getting between 60-80% and a far better chance to push their case forward, I don't understand how you can't see that.

Lyons could only ever play a quarter due to his fitness so he was a perfect sub

The removal of the sub rule may finish his career unless he pushes himself to the brink in pre season.....fair enough last year as he had that terrible spider bite which put him out

Won't be any excuses not to be an endurance animal after this pre season when he is playing for his career

I think we will draft best available and not needs, sure we need quality inside mids but if they aren't available at our pick we must go for best talent.

Going to be an interesting draft, this could go a number of ways
Do you think we need inside mids more than any other types ?

This board has tagged players "go home" for much less ......apparently Harry has the outgoing personality and Ben is more reserved
Who is he going to play for back in Warragul ? Think he will be fine

Harry has the confidence and maybe Ben can be as good when he starts believing it

Got a feeling this draft will be nothing like the mock drafts for the second year in a row

Love it how we have been linked to about 10 players at 13

Yep, any of those combinations are a great result ......depends on whether the club goes tall or mid at #9???

How would Mckay & Burton sit with you ? .......or Francis and Burton?
Mckay and burton too risky , could live with Francis and burton

Burton scares the sh1t out of me though

Yes, very good ones. Danger and Thommo both gone within 2 years and the game is won in the midfield.

We've got an excellent forward line, we've added to our running defence and speed overall.

But what ever mid we draft isn't going to add much in 2016, we need to target a very good one via trade next year.

Agreed.

With all the academy matching and teams with 2 picks in the top 13 I reckon it's a bit of a lottery to actually get the top 10 right. You can win $10k trying to get it right on the AFL website.

Herald sun saying Weideman could slide:

This draft is that chancy that still a chance weidemann or parish available at 9

That would be interesting

TBH don't see much wrong with weidemann' testing results after a year out...quicker than lever and the fitness is something to be worked on after you've been out for so long

Do you honestly believe what you just typed? Only fit enough to play a quarter whilst playing full games in the SANFL?

A player drafted in 2010 and our club has only been capable of getting him to the fitness where he can play a quarter 4-5 seasons later? The same club that also signed him to a 2 year deal?

Please.

Always thought Weideman was rated way too high in the top 10 ......Carlton at #8 to replace the FF they tried to trade last trade period
