This years draft is a real lottery amongst 12-13 players for top 10

This is why i get cynical with so called "PROFESSIONAL" club recruiting, that spin us the BS they've been following these players for years .....players now drifting and rising in the space of a few weeks, which shows how fluid everything is & the fact it's the last 3 months of your draft year that only counts

How does Oliver go from a no-body 2 months ago to possible pick 3 in the space of a month

Ok ....but these are just opinions like everyone elses .....selections by where i think clubs will take players .....but our picks based on who's left and talent (with an eye on needs)

Carlton .... Weitering....(no brainer)
Brisbane - Schache ......(no brainer)
Melbourne - Parish .......(Essendon desperately want Parish who = Shane Crawford)
Essendon - Francis .......(best available & suits Essendon's rebuild)
Essendon - Milera .........(if Essendon were desperate for midfield run, think they'll take Milera/Balic)
Gold Coast - Curnow ......(GC showed last year that they always take best available)
Melbourne - Collins ........(take one midfielder & one KPD)
Carlton - Weideman........ (KPP Bookends)
Adelaide ...Oliver .............(Midfield Contested Beast - run risk of losing Mackay though)
GWS - Hopper ...............(obvious Academy Player)
Carlton - Rhys Mathieson ...(or Hibberd, two talls and a midfielder)
Richmond - Hibberd ..........(whoever Carlton doesn't take - doubt they'd take Mackay)
Adelaide - Mackay ..............(great talent)

Unlikely that Parish will slide to us but if he does, would be hard to pass up that level of talent. But he screams go home factor to me.

Just dug this article back up, I'd forgotten how blatantly Wingard rejected GWS!

This high-flyer could follow brother Brendan (Port Adelaide) to South Australia and will thrill. Failed to fire this year but so did Western Australia and he looked spent at the draft combine. Another lick of leg speed for the Crows.

The twist: The first real surprise. If local boys Aaron Francis or Wayne Milera fall the Crows would pounce but they would ideally love Harry McKay. Curnow must appeal.

Ryan Burton (North Adelaide)

H: 191cm W: 88kg

Key forward

Boom or bust? That’s how clubs see Burton — who hasn’t played in more than a year since suffering a car crash-like knee injury in a marking contest. The marking forward wants to evolve into a Nat Fyfe-type midfielder.

The twist: The Crows punted successfully on ACL victim Jake Lever last year and are eyeing Burton, but could opt for Darcy Tucker, Riley Bonner or Harley Balic instead.

Burton's the one I'm truly worried about with a 1st round pick....
