So doesnt it boil down to our picks essentially being 9 and 12 of the non-academy kids (assuming GWS is forced to use 10 on hopper)?

Would be over the moon if we ended up with Francis and McKay but realistically Francis will not last until pick 9. No chance!

Would be very happy with McKay (KPF/Ruck) and Oliver (strong inside mid).

I agree with Wayne's-World that there is no way in hell we will select a flanker or key defender with our picks. AFC traditionally with Our last two recruiters have used their 1st round picks on either genuine KPP or inside mids that can win their own ball. It will be no different this time around. We will go for a structural player. We traded for all the flankers we need.

I think Oliver is someone that we would have pretty high up our draft board and he is the type of player that we love. Big, strong, very competitive, wins his own footy, good mark and its a big bonus he can hit the scoreboard and is a good kick. Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if we pick this kid. Has all the attributes we like in our 1st round draftees.

That leaves the second Essendon pick - which probably will be Francis, but there's certainly the chance he slides.

it seemed like melbourne waited until essendon got pick 5 to make the pick swap, and they were always likely to pick Parish at 4, so I'm thinking that's it's one of Curnow, Weideman or Francis.

Two of them have been round 1 picks. We also used a round 1 pick on Davis. We definitely shouldn't use another one on a KPD

We have Keenan Ramsay whom will make a great centre half back but we decided we would play him forward in the SANFL when really he is gonna be a great defender as his U18 carnival showed so let's start playing him in the position he will excel in .

You would assume Essendon would take a mid and a KPF, so you would assume Weideman but Francis is a chance there. They won't take McKay as he is too similar in height, etc. to Daniher.
Gold Coast i would assume would be taking Milera or McKay.
With Carlton taking a tall in Weitering with the 1st pick I wouldn't be surprised with them targeting the best available mid.
Melbourne need to help out Hogan so will take either McKay or Curnow. If Francis is still there, I would see him go here as well.

I see Francis going to Essendon or Melbourne, if he doesn't then happy days!

I reckon the crows will be looking at McKay, Burton, Oliver for picks 9 and 13.

Oliver is becoming one of my favorites fast. Looks a little reminiscent of Ollie Wines in the Bendigo days. Probably was keep out of the u18 team because of Nash Holmes and Dunkley.

Who are the 3 best inside mids and 3 best kpd prospects in peoples opinion, I think that's what we will target with 9 and 13

The best 3 inside mids are hopper (gws academy), Kennedy (gws academy) and Oliver

Best 3 kpd are weitering , shache and probably weidemman and McKay then Collins as a KPD

Matt Crouch better watch out if we draft Oliver. Better ball user and just as prolific at stoppages.

If Milera and Francis are gone which looks likely would love to go Oliver and burton with our picks and pick up a mature age KPF and a mature age KPD in rookie draft both that are ready to go there looks to be a few good ones this year

Smith was always projected to last till our pick at 14. Looking back it seems pretty stupid now, but I think there were a few question marks his kicking, it was long, but I think he was a bit indiscriminate. He's since improved that aspect beyond sight.

Francis is a little different because he's long been projected as a top 3 pick, Smith was never this, but I think astute judges saw his talent.

Wingard only needed to convince one club (GWS) that he was a flight risk. Harder to say this to multiple clubs.

He wasn't rated in the top 10 at the time so didn't really slide to 14. In fact it was one of the more predictable picks, I think most pundits had us picking him at 14.
