List Mgmt. Draft Watch 2015

I can't see what the point in going would be. The clubs aren't in the open like previous years, they are in individual rooms on computers
Surely they'll switch from booth to booth with the cameras as the clubs take their picks??
Maybe mike up each booth?

Gonna be shit TV if they don't I reckon!

I'll be watching for about 10 minutes until pick 13 or whatever number it becomes

Part 2 of the Darcy Tucker warts and all insight by the AFL draft hub...

Found it interesting that Adelaide was the only club that interviewed him twice at the Draft combine, looks like he's definitely on our radar when one of the questions at his 2nd interview included " whether I'd like to move to Adelaide?"....:)

At the combine, he had 11 scheduled chats with clubs, including two with Adelaide. The first interview with the Crows, on the opening night, was challenging. They pressed him about his season and explained what they thought didn't work. The Crows recruiters didn't smile a lot and had their questions ready to go. Tucker wasn't sure what to expect when they asked to see him again the next morning.

"I was going in a bit scared thinking they were going to be on to me again, but it was really good," Tucker says.

"In the first one they were trying to find out the question I can't answer, ‘Why didn't I play well this year?' I said I wasn't sure. I was trying. I did everything I could.

"The second interview was about different topics, and whether I'd like to move to Adelaide. They also had me to draw some game structures."

Part 1 from the previous day.....

We should take milera if available. Supports the AFC, models himself on Shaun Burgoyne and rates his composure under pressure as his greatest asset.

We will regret not taking him if we don't.
Reckon he'll be gone before our pick.

Meanwhile, what's our thoughts on Ah Chee? I think he could be an option - great footballer. Superb mark, good footskills, can break lines and is a high character kid.

Didn't hear that part about supporting the Crows, good to hear, if we pick him that's another Crows supporter we've added.

I can't remember if it was Reid or Noble said we would draft for talent and trade for needs. If that means Milera we pick him.

Sure we've picked up some runners but if he's that good he will be better than the guys we traded in. Besides he will add to our class and speed.

We would have reshape our side completely. Quick skillful runners as opposed to slow mids with suspect kicks. Magnificent.

Next year is supposed to be a midfielders draft. Go for contested mids then either by draft or trades. It also gives next year for our inside mids to prove themselves without Danger.

Have a hunch Gold Coast will take Milera, he replaces Bennell and seems like the smallest flight risk of the top 10. Also makes sense why they would swap 3 for 6 if he is who they want.

I don't know how much stock people put in Noble quotes reported by our favourite chief but here you go.

“There’s a couple of needs to address — now we see if we can do that through the draft,” Noble said. “Now we have our midfielders and runners, we now look at the talls and the rucks.

I'd put it in the same basket as a 2nd interview and the question "would you move to Adelaide".

I still think it will be a med-tall/tall and a mid combo. I can't see the AFC taking a ruck unless it is a rookie.

We would be able to form the Milera High Club - goes well with We Fly As One :D

It wouldn't surprise me if we did go for talls, we have just delisted/retired Podsiadly, Siggins and Osborn without any replacements through trade/FA. I'm not sure ruck is a major one, but that quote did make me think Harry McKay may be high on the agenda. Also wouldn't surprise if we went a mature aged KPD in the rookie draft, Hartley wouldn't make it through by the sounds, but Watson from Carlton is an ex-first rounder who could benefit from a second shot, also liked the look of Cameron Giles prior to his draft year but struggled with injury.

Either way, unless a Francis type slips through, I think we should expect at least 1x genuine key position type to be amongst our picks, possibly 2.

Ogilvie has the same philosophy as Rendel when picking kids at the draft. You take the best available with your first pick and pick by needs with second and third round picks. I wonder if that rule still applies when you have two first round picks. When you pick for needs you get Pittard instead of Fyfe, you get Toumpas instead of Wines.

I hope we ignore needs and get the two best kids available.

Pretty sound reasoning for the most part. Apart from McKay and Collins though, who do you see as genuine key position available?
