I'd agree we need both. Certainly a young talented kpf but also a stop gap mature ager. If tex or JJ get injured we're in a bit of trouble. Two of Francis, Milera and Oliver would be a good result. A mature KPD in the rookie draft would be a good option but I see very little point in drafting a mature KPF in the rookie draft. We do not need a limited, stop-gap KPF, we need a high quality, young, developing KPF who can step in to the side in 4 or 5 years time when he overtakes Jenkins. Any ready to go KPF we rookie list this year will end up being de-listed with 0 career games.
It's definitely possible, now they've lost Carslile.Dons might take Collins and swing Hooker or Hurley forward??
Would love to hear about all these ready to go backup KP forwards we've got on our list as I don't see any outside of Jenkins and Tex.What's the point in getting a mature aged KP forward? We already have Tex, JJ and Lynch, plus numerous other backups.

If that happened, someone like Weiderman or Curnow may have slipped (unlikely).Who do we take at 9 if Mckay, Milera, and Francis are all gone? I think Burton/Tucker/Oliver would be next in line. (in no particular order)
With all our small/medium forward options do we need a ready to go back up for tex and jj at the moment though? Bring in a young guy or just restructure the forward line.Would love to hear about all these ready to go backup KP forwards we've got on our list as I don't see any outside of Jenkins and Tex.
- Lynch isn't a KP player
-Dear has played very little footy and wouldn't be ready to play AFL level
- McGovern isn't KP size (191cm and 84kg)
- Ramsey is 1cm taller and 2kg heavier than McGovern
So I'd love to hear who our backup KP forwards are that could fill in for us should one of Tex/Jenkins get injured (inb4 the ruckman Lowden and O'Brien get mentioned).
Backline is the same for Hartigan and Talia although we've probably got guys more capable of filling in for them then we do Jenkins/Tex.
If there was a mature aged forward that we think could play if called upon, don't think it would be the worst use of a rookie list spot myself.
Someone tweeted today that GWS are keen on Hartley. He's the one I was referring to, the player we'd been linked to - but whom I don't expect to be available in the rookie draft. Not worth using #13 on him, should be gone before the RD starts.

West AdelaideFantastic .....now we can concentrate on discussing "real" prospects for our picksI'm starting to get the feel Collins won't be there at 13, could even go before 9 if Essendon's keen?

We've signed Sam Shaw for another 3 years so you are half a chance.Fantastic .....now we can concentrate on discussing "real" prospects for our picks
NEVER on the radar ......why are people crapping on about taking a defender
There's more chance of me being selected![]()
West AdelaideThe two in that list i can see sliding are Mathieson & Weideman .....how far, not sure but feel 8-15 rangeI'm just desperately hoping this is the draft order...
1: Weitering (given)
2: Schache (given)
3: Parish (Dees moved up for a reason)
4: Weideman (Dons need a genuine tall)
5: Mathieson (Dons need a mid to go with their tall)
6: Milera (Suns need class now that Bennell is gone)
7: Curnow (Dees need a Stringer-like player to partner with Hulk)
8: McKay (Blues need a tall forward together with their pick 1 KPD)
9: Francis (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
10: Used for Hopper/Kennedy
11: Oliver (Blues need a mid to go with their two talls - balanced draft)
12: Honestly not sure who the Tigers will pick.
13: Ah Chee/Tucker/Hibberd/Burton
West Adelaide2 years ......and my boots are shined and readyWe've signed Sam Shaw for another 3 years so you are half a chance.

West AdelaideWe'd go Francis first at #9 under your scenarioI've watched a few highlights and both Francis and McKay look pretty good. If all are available at 9 who do we pick first: Francis, McKay or Milera...exclude the SA factor
My list would go:I've watched a few highlights and both Francis and McKay look pretty good. If all are available at 9 who do we pick first: Francis, McKay or Milera...exclude the SA factor
West AdelaideWith our trades .....highly doubt a) Milera will get to us b) that we'd take him at 9My list would go:
Francis
Milera
Burton *if convinced on injury
Oliver
McKay
Surely Francis and hopefully one slips to 13 for usI've watched a few highlights and both Francis and McKay look pretty good. If all are available at 9 who do we pick first: Francis, McKay or Milera...exclude the SA factor
Care to read out the weight of those two players for me WW? Being a beanpole isn't going to help fill a key position spot, figured I wouldn't need to spell that out though....View attachment 189605
Now this is embarrassing for you ......you've gone on a rant & not checked the facts :
If McGovern and Ramsey can't play KP because of height .....how do you explain a certain Tex Walker being the same height as Ramsay?
For the structure they bring to the side I believe so. Big part of JJ coming good in the second half of the season was his ability to crash a pack which gave opportunities to guys like Betts/Cameron to do their thing. Without that part of JJ's game and I wasn't happy with him as we had a void in our forward line. With all our small/medium forward options do we need a ready to go back up for tex and jj at the moment though? Bring in a young guy or just restructure the forward line.
If you are anything like SS your boots will still be shiny at the end of your contract2 years ......and my boots are shined and ready![]()

Hi KM, if you were to rank the AFL clubs based on their recent history in terms of drafting talent (let's say the past 6-8 years), how would you rank them?

Dear is maybe a 20% chance of making it and that's before the shoulder injuries
You reckon hawthorn would let a freebie go if he was more than a 20% chance ? No way
The others are not genuine KPF , we have lost Pods who could have come straight in without a concern , the cupboard is now bare today and also in 3-5 yrs time
We would be mad to overlook a KPF with such high draft picks.
