You could be right because every year I’m
Left dissatisfied with our draft picks.

I personally don’t want Bruhn at pick 6,7 or 8 with 2 knee injuries. I don’t mind Reid and Henry.

If we split and miss ODriscoll, I'd prefer Powell or Macrae.

They are all worthy selections at that range, the lack of a big inside mid though would worry most supporters.

Yeah, bearing in mind that I'm no expert and don't attend games, it seems to me from the write-ups that he's the player we wanted someone like Laverde to be, yet Laverde remains.

I chose Powell because if we miss ODriscoll he could still be that big insider we need. Macrae I've chosen because we also need a distributor who can run all day as well. Macrae being competent on both sides interests me as well.

Ford's size, marking ability and goal nous would be assets. I just think those other two fill more pressing needs. I wouldn't be disappointed if we took Ford.

Mids who impact forward is what im looking for. Same reason i want Perkins. Wouldn't be disappointed with Macrae if he was still there as he's got the extra height to help balance the midfield.

Genuinely worried we get nothing we don't already have on our list.

one of Reid/Cox plus 3 of Perkins, O'Driscoll, Macrae & Powell sets us up nicely.

Foster-Knight does the most of the work re drafting nowadays. Apparently Brasher has put the emphasis for the list management team to consult with Rutten for what he wants.

Whatever our draft haul looks like, it wont be due to Dodoro being a cowboy at the draft table

At the end of the day it is a very imperfect science. Recruiters often get it wrong, but I can't imagine getting it better myself. We have huge arguments over current players as to whether they are any good, let alone future prospects. The only bugbear I have is the Steinberg thing - when we reach for an obscure talent who would almost certainly have been available later anyway.

Has a Cody Brand bid on and matched at Hawthorn circa pick 30, then Josh Eyre bid matched at Richmond circa pick 40.

Im not sure how close this will be as he has Adelaide taking Luke Edwards as a matched father son bid, Maurice Rioli Jnr bid matched as Edwards has not been agreed as a f/s and Cal Twomey thinks Rioli Jnr will end up in the rookie draft.

I stand corrected although that might even be worse. We should have bid on Parker and then waited 2 years to entice Steinberg (the star) back to Melbourne.
