McKenna? He hasn't nominated
Fair enough - was just thinking of the romance that we now seem to have sorted the HBF line out

Wing or HFF would be a great area for him to add value. Perfect for a back up or even an upgrade on Zakka

McGrath’s press conference today he got asked about Hurley being put on the inactive list. In amongst the answer to that question he mentioned that it gives another player a chance to come on to our list or play for us. He’s right actually, I’d forgotten that it also allows us to upgrade a rookie.

The only rookies that need to be upgraded in order to play now are Category B, which is Hird and possibly McBride (even though he was Category A before maybe they were allowed to move him across after McQuillan left).

So I’m guessing if whoever we’re hoping for with our second pick isn’t available then we’ll just upgrade Tom Hird..?

No guarantees we use the second pick I suppose.

Newcombe for Mine
big inside mid to compliment what we have
3 years is not too long when you consider draftees at the end of the year get two
usurping hawthorn an added bonus
lambert from Frankston the other i like- a late injury might hurt him
if we go tall schlensog would be my smokey

Agree, except Lambert didn't nominate.

I am starting to think Newcombe is worth the risk of the longer contract. His skills and movement are better than most expect.

I'd happily sign Newcombe on 4 years but that is mostly out of a desire to spite Hawthorne/see Jackets engage in some late-90s era trolling.

Far better than the Herald Sun one.

That's because I used rumours for the first 10 or so pick and then guesses after that, rather than simply guessing

I reckon if Collingwood take Johnson over Callow, there is a reasonable chance he sides to us.

But I agree it makes all too much sense for Collingwood to take Callow

It's possible. Gold Coast are reported to be interested as well if Johnson were to be taken by Collingwood though.

Wouldn't mind stealing Mirkov if he i still there as well

We apprently did a late interview with Callow so maybe sliding

Richmond apparently want Freeman and are confident on his body

The Bombers have spoken to several small forwards including Gold Coast academy product Max Pescud and West Adelaide’s Josh Gore, and have also been linked to Newcombe, Richmond VFL player Sam Durham - also being looked at by the Tigers and Sydney - and former Western Bulldogs train-on player Corey Preston. Defender Angus Baker from their VFL side is another who the Bombers have monitored closely.

At this point I'd have more question marks about his disposal than his body. Butchering the ball at VFL level doesn't bode well for being a good AFL player. Think back to how Myers absolutely dominated in a VFL midfield.
