So we're going with Callow if he's available? We'll have a surplus of talls, but I don't mind. With Hooker reaching close to his end, we could do with another contested mark, especially with doubts about Baldwin's return from injury.

You'd think Baker would be our second selection if he's available.

With Hawthorne having 2 picks now it's highly likely they take Moyle and Collingwood Callow with 3.

Exactly plus the fact that Wright turns slower than the Titanic, IMO he just isn't suitable to the forward press that truck and co are trying to implement hence when he plays there is a breakdown in structure that allows the opposition to sneak out the back of, which Freo displayed to aplomb with quick switching of the play.

Whilst you need that key forward presence we almost need another Harry Jones like clone or Gunston that not only can provide a marking target but are athletic enough to help sustain forward line pressure..

So Moyle with pick 2 and Newcombe with their second pick? What's the likelihood that someone else snatches Newcombe?

Collingwood would be mad to pass on Callow. He is exactly what they need.
Very low with that 4 year deal

Ash Johnson seems like Collingwood playing it safe. Good 3rd tall type, good leap and a nice mark.

Callow is riskier. Has to make an impact as a primary marking target, wouldn't make it as a secondary tall. It is a risk but they need to take those risks.

They already have De Goey, Hoskin-Elliott, Ruscoe, Oliver and Tohill (Irish player) as that medium type. Would be a bizarre move

They have a weird list profile where they have 0 players in the 195cm to 199cm range. Very unusual gap.

Nitpicking but it’s Ollie Henry and not Henry Oliver.

Ignore if I’ve read this wrong.

From Herald sun

The Bombers are linked to various nominees, including interviewing Norwood key forward Jackson Callow, who has a number of suitors before Essendon’s No. 10 pick.

Others mentioned as possible targets are VFL Bomber Angus Baker, Murray Bushranger Cameron McLeod, GWS Giants Academy player James Peatling and Gold Coast Academy member Max Pescud”

Yes please to Pescud

I hope these rumours are true. I really like Peatling this year.

Bet you only say that because KM does 😛

I'd take Reeves over Pescud though, more strings to his bow imo
I’ve been on Pescuds bandwagon since under 17s so I’ll continue to fly the flag. Reeves goes alright aswell

So on our rumoured shortlist we have:

Cam McLeod, a 192 cm medium forward,
Angus Baker, a 191 cm medium defender,
James Peatling, a 184 cm outside mid who can play on the flanks and
Max Pescud, a 183 cm small/medium forward

Suspect if we take 2 it'll be McLeod and Baker.

I like how at 192cm we're considering McLeod a 'medium' yet Lockett was 191cm. Shows how much the KPP size has progressed.
