I don't know where this idea that Johnson is an outside midfielder has come from. He's not purely inside but the Cutler comparisons are quite bizarre.

The biggest objective for us was to improve our list to win tough contested finals like the EF. We achieved that with Hobbs.

We'll finally have a mid that can play in the rain and collect contested possessions. Surely we can all appreciate a player that suits rain!

No one seems to wonder whether 6 clubs just shat the bed. They didn't because all picks inside 30 are first round in terms of the calibre of player people think they are getting.

Yeah I doubt Freo don't take Johnson but they may trade the pick. I'm happy with him or Goater or even Knevitt to a slightly lesser extent.

I'd do that trade from our side but no clue whether it's close enough to satisfy Geelong.

It all comes down to competition i suppose.

I reckon it's huge for interstate clubs to bank quality locals. Makes planning that much easier.
