John Connel

Senior List
Sep 14, 2004
170
1
Vic
AFL Club
Collingwood
Other Teams
Sydney roosters
#10 Selwood OR Proud
Any of these guys would be great in our midfield.

#28 Colin Garland
Now befor i get my head ripped off for this selection i have it on very good word that unless we get a another pick between here and #42 Richmond will take him.
I know that even befor draft camp we and Richmond are very very keen on getting him.
With the chance of trading Tarrant for late first round or early second round it would give us the extra pick/picks Needed.

#44 Mitch Brown
If still here
Strong KP Just what we need for our backline.

With the trading of Tarrant and J Cloke we should have another 1st 2nd and 4th round picks.

This draft can set us up for years with some really good players.

So who said we were trading Tarrant.
Not Mick
Not Swann
Not Tarrant
Not Tarrants manager.

So who was it?- and Big Footy posters don't count

Well the herald sun alluded to it. And nothing in the papers could be a lie.

Tarrant probably will stay, but then again, if Collingwood can get value (1st and 2nd), then they could trade, especially with the super draft ahead.

Carro, Sheehan, most of the SEN and 3AW crew. Whether they’d have any idea is debatable. You wouldn’t expect anyone at Collingwood to say it publicly and I’d be crapped off it they did until a deal was done if one was contemplated.

As for Mick, he did say (SEN last week) that Tarrant and the club are questioning whether a move is best for Tarrant and/or the club. Speculation is fair enough IMO and my tip (worth nothing) is that they are shopping him. I am all for that so long as we don't just take the best offer regardless of whether it is adequate.

Who is this bloke?

I'm not sure I could handle having too many nicknames like "Daisy" and "Judy" in my team. We're s'posed to be tough dammit!

I wouldn’t mind a sissy girl sounding midfield of Juddy, Embely, Kerr, Cousins, Beau and Chad to go with Daisey and Pendles – well maybe not Chad. No more Western Chads please. We’d have to keep Flaps though?

I heard Mick say he wanted Tarrant to line up at FF next year.

And if he was up for trade why would'n't the club say so.

Hawthorn did with Everitt.
It makes no difference if it is known before trade week or not.
His value is the same now as it is next week

Because Hawks didnt care if they got something for Everitt or not. He was leaving.

Collingwood will not admit to shopping around for Taz because if we dont have a reasonable offer, then we wont get rid of him. Thus meaning, AFTER trade week, MM and Eddie will come out and say, we never intended on getting rid of him.

But of course, posters on Big Footy know better.
Those club officials can't trick BF posters can they

Murray, after this years indiscretion, and the form of the last few years. MM and Eddie would be STUPID, and not doing their jobs, if they aren't shopping around for a suitable offer that will benefit Collingwood.
I mean no disrespect to you personally, but it is a contridiction on the behalf of the BF bloggers who always accuse others, who due to their disike of Tarrant, want to trade him. Well, Im starting to believe that all the people who are saying that Tarrant isnt going anywhere are simply the ones who want him to stay so badly!!

It is common sense, and EVERYONE will agree to this, that MM and Eddie will be on the look-out for a suitable trade involving Chris Tarrant, and if they arent, then they arent doing their jobs. Because ANYTHING that involves benefiting this club, and getting us closer to the holy grail, should be looked at.

Very fair point, however none of these chaps have come out catagorically deneying either.

Murray, if you respect the opinions of BF posters so little why do you even bother?
I only disrespect idiots and liars (admittedly that is about 75% of posters)

And I bother, because BF amuses me.
I have never come across a place like this before, where I get a laugh a minute and all for free.
This place is an absolute scream.

I'll give you a true example

MM "I want to see Tarrant lining up at FF for Collingwood next year"
Tarrant "I love Collingwood and if the club want me, I want to stay"

Seems fairly simple to understand doesn't it?
But wait - To Big Footy posters, reading between the lines  this really means MM is hawking Tarrant around to every club and Tarrant can't wait to get out of the place.

See what I mean?
Now if that doesn't make your sides ache with laughter, you have no sense of humour.

And it's all for free, I tell ya.

Anything else you need to know?

(PS the ones that really keep me in stitches are "I know someone at the club who told me .......")
