Any chance Brodie is only doing so well because of his size?
No definitely not. While it has its benefits he really is a quality and smart footballer. His positioning, work and movement at stoppages is great. Also, he has a great ability to win his own ball, is good at ground level and generally uses his disposals to drive his team forwards. He always has an impact on games too (when healthy).

A question I've asked both Bishop & KM. Here is my answer. Feel free to provide your own if you have one to share.
Who is a TAC Cup player that you think has draftable attributes but haven't heard many or any people talk about yet?

For me, Sam Parsons, an overager for the Oakleigh Chargers. He's a 191cm 80kg rebounding/running defender. He is very athletic and has strung a couple of very nice impactful games together out of the Chargers backline. 19 disposals vs the Cannons and 21 disposals (at 86% efficiency, including 15 kicks) vs the Jets. I'd definitely recommend keeping an eye out for him in the remainder of the season. If anyone has any additional information about his progress I'd love to hear it.

Has been a bit of talk about him but Oscar Junker is another one

Another player I want to add to this discussion is Jai Rout, from the Gippsland Power. I've seen him play quite a few times over the last 2-3 years and while he is much more than a small forward at TAC Cup level, I think he could be a great small forward option for an AFL team. He's 179cm and 72kg and has played a bit more closer to goal over the last few weeks kicking 11 goals in his last 4 games (including a bag of 5 today). Has elite speed, a great goal sense and a big leap. He's strong overhead and not afraid to fly for his marks which I think is a great asset for a small forward to have in the AFL. 5 contested marks going into this round. Jai's good performances (3 games in a row in the best player votes) have also coincided with much better performances for the Power as the season has progressed. If he can keep this production up and continue to improve, we might start seeing him on some draft boards soon.

Only 3 players in the top 10 coaches votes feature in your top 50, I don't believe you have many if any 19yo on your list either. QUOTE="DraftMe, post: 43854830, member: 168293"]Back for 2016 aiming to be bigger and better. I will likely stick with a big board until the final draft order is set much later in the year.

Latest Update (19 June)

Yeah that's right. I guess it shows that there can be a difference between productive TAC Cup players and players with more AFL attributes or higher potential. Out of the other players in that top 10 that aren't in my 50, I think Zach Guthrie is the most likely to end up getting drafted.

Not a huge year for potential 19 year olds. Tim English the main one, Shai Bolton a bit further down. Mitch McCarthy, Ben Davis, Ben Long and Matt Guelfi are other 19yo's I like the games of and are not far out of my newest top 50 (soon to be updated).

I think it was a fair list to start the year off with, I'm sure after seeing the championships you will have more of an opinion on the non Victorians. Very hard to judge how they are going until seeing them against reading stats. I see a lot of the SA kids with most playing SANFL or College footy but the same suspects have been around for years in the top 10. Graham didn't surprise me winning the B and F of the championship, but still don't beleive he is the best out of SA. This year In particular as a group has always had a strong squad out of SA and didn't surprise coming a strong second, I still beleive there will be 10 drafted from SA.

Thank you. The others from SA I see draftable outside my 50 for the time being are Alex Villis, Brennan Cox, Sam Walker, Jake Pitman, Tyson Stengle and Ben Jarman. Are they the same ones you think will be drafted?

Jack Roughsedge??

Opinion?
Yeah very draftable in my opinion and could end up being a steal later in the draft due to lack of match play this year. Great sized mid, moves well, finds a lot of the ball, uses it well and looks like a very intelligent footballer. I wish I saw his 39 disposal game, but I remember I went to the Cannons v Jets game followed by the Ranges v Rebels game on the same day.

I hope he can get back out there for a few more. Who knows how high he could rise up. I do think he's shown enough to get a team confident about picking him. 14 games as a bottom ager averaging 17.4 disposals & 4.9 tackles, combined with a big break out game this year has done him a lot of good.

Alex Villis, has surprised a few this year making the AA U/18 team and getting a handfull of SANFL games with Norwood, probably puts himself in contention as a late pick!
should go second round/third round IMO

Yeah I agree he could be a selection from 25-50 at this stage. Great user off both feet and just looks like a natural footballer. Doesn't win much of his own ball (4.3 contested possessions in the champs) and is not a big tackler (2.5 per game).

Where do you see his best position at AFL level?

Wing/Half back flank. For an outside player, he lacks a bit of a POD, but sets up play with his great skills and decision making

I like him on the wing, very light. Thinking if he just misses out will go as a rookie give his body an opportunity to mature more, wouldnt be a bad development player in the rookie draft

What's your opinion on Brett Blair? Saw him play a vic country trial and thought he went well but haven't seen anything since. Form tapered?

I see him as a potential rookie choice at the moment. 189cm medium forward who plays more like a key forward than anything else. Great contested marker and certainly knows how to find the goals. Because of his height, I think he needs to develop his tank to a level where he can consistently get up and down the ground and impact more than just in the front half.

I don't reckon any other player has taken as many contested marks as Blair has over the last 2 years in the TAC Cup which is a nice thing to have next to your name.

Hi everyone, I am aiming to provide all of you a bit of a point of difference among all the mock's and boards out there so I am going with a giant TOP 80 big board. More players to discuss and more players you might decide to go out and see play before they might join your AFL team.

I love that so many people are interested and getting involved in draft prospect talk and I will try to provide a unique outlook of my own utilizing the connections I have available to me. :thumbsu:

dont rate Guthrie? Been impressive in the TAC cup IMO

He has certainly been a very solid contributor for the Cannons but I personally think he lacks some elite qualities.

Nice shut down defender, good user of the ball and a good athlete who could possibly play a role for an AFL club in the future, but not a lot stands out. However, being a bit of a late developer I wouldn't rule out him developing some elite attributes down the track.

In a very even draft I think he will come into consideration from about pick 40 onward.

If I were to group the class of small/general defenders I would have:
Top group (Rotham, J. Berry, Scrimshaw, Witherden, Hura).
Then Guthrie would be among players like (Hampton, Morrison, Korewha, Piper, Walker, W. Berry & Long).

Note: I didn't include names like Romensky, Villis, Junker, Rolls and Davis because they are all just as much midfielders or forwards as they are defenders.
