*dream shattered - guy on internet laughed at me*
Not a minute soon enough, in case you ran off and became a road train driver and realized too late how stupid it is

Prolly a Melbourne cabby. Towel on my scone, fake beard, an open lunchbox full of butter chicken and talk a different language loudly on my phone every fare.

I'd like to move into the more antiquarian side of bookselling, but I can't see that happening any time soon, it kills me enough when I buy shitty books for stock that I want. I'd be hopeless if I was going to get beautiful old editions purely to sell on.

This is exactly what ive been thinking for a week or so.

In a past life I have been both a soldier and a lawyer. Neither really sat with me. Approaching 40 this year, and debating what to do next.

Im considering writing a list of shit I love, and then figuring out a way to make money from it.

Although I have ruled out pr0n star already.

Travel writer?

Some sort of admin role for the ATP/WTA where you followed the tours all around the world would be sweet.

The grand slams and masters are mostly in glamour cities but it would be awesome going to some of the out there places that buy tournaments - Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Morocco etc. Basically places you'd never go yourself but would be well looked after by the rich guys that buy the events.

Work for that TV show getaway or Naked Wild on.(is that even on anymore?) Anything involving getting the $$$ to travel the world.

Anything on the discovery channel would work.

Seen 'Three Sheets'? The host gets paid to travel around the world getting shitfaced.

From wiki:

Comedian Zane Lamprey hosts a humorous trip around the world sampling the local well-known (and little-known) food and drink while also engaging in local alcohol-related customs.[1] In each episode Lamprey samples various food and drinks and learns about the customs and libations of that area, and then experiences the local hangover cure.

That. That is my dream job.

Sportsman, if I had the aptitude, preferably playing some code of football.

Being slightly more realistic, there are a lot of jobs that sound great, but have one or two heavily detracting factors (e.g. teaching would be great, if you didn't have to deal with discipline). For my skill set, I'd say a historian, ideally one that gets to travel the world.

Agree re the travel tv shows - would be fantastic to get paid to travel the world. Man v Food would be fun for a few months (taking 20 years of my life expectancy on the way).
