NN out, Lycett missing the start of the year at best, McInnes struggling to fill the KPP/backup ruck role at WAFL level, Vardy having a history of injury and Giles at his best being a spare spare ruck. Add that a lot of our key forward hopes are in to few baskets. He wasn't recruited to be part of a fully fit team. Please take your negativity away from my Drew Petrie Appreciation Thread. Kthxbye.
Given that, in hindsight, getting Petrie was a masterstroke. If things go well, he plays WAFL, and stays a rookie, and retires after a year.
If things don't go well, we paid peanuts for a proven durable competent forward, and a ruck that is at least good around the ground and gives options.
Its hard to see another move the Eagles could have made that would have delivered this sort of return.
