OK Robbie Gray owners, what are you doing?

I loved my team with him in & now with this hamstring tightness I am worried it could be setting a tone for the year.
So, Im weighing up the punt on it just being a week & I take Dickson's score (wish I had Kennedy), then get Gray as a good Point of Difference back next week, OR, downgrade to Dangerfield and walk away never looking back.

What do you think & what are you doing yourselves?

I'm in your shoes too mate.
Right now I've put danger in, haven't had him in my side once so not overly happy, but saves rearranging other parts of my team.
I have Kennedy on the bench, but not sure I trust Gray now...

Will probably just keep danger, soft draw, improving team, new coach, surely he'll improve again!?

I'm a little wary of Danger despite being a Crows fan. I think he's just an awesome footballer & not necessarily a DT'er who'll rack up big numbers. I hope I'm wrong though.

So, the second option I've now opted for has seen me drop Swallow for Brad Ebert & pick up Stevie J for Gray.
I could still go Danger for Ebert & get the DP link open in the Mids.

Well I was 9 rounds off...

Deep down I knew it too. At the start of the year I had him on my never again list for that reason, but his form & playing all of last year lured me in.
If I'm serious about this I need to re-look at the never again list & remember I put them there for a reason. Gray has highlighted this to me.

I know they're not FWDS, but Broughton & Shaw are now in serious trouble of being removed from the squad for that reason (but new coaches could bring new life......)

Massive upside in Gray and if you have good cover in D.Smith and Kennedy on the bench and even better if you have them as emergencies than why wouldnt you take the risk.

Port look a much better side and IMO will really improve and have the ability to finish ahead of Sydney Stkilda on the ladder, even though i dont think i have them ahead. I dont see them to far behind if they can handle injuries.

Smith on field, no Kennedy. So it's taking a punt on Dickson this week.
Still a possibility.

If a back-related hamstring to a player who has had a lot of injuries early in his career isn't a red-flag i don't know what is.

NEVER AGAIN!

Im surprised at everyone locking in Dickson. Great sub candidate because hes midfield/forward and has some X factor about him and a great finisher from reports. The doggies have a very depthy list and guys like Panos, Grant, Vez, Dalhaus, Sherman are snapping at his heels.

People need to remember that Pfeiffer, A.Young, Hall, Miliera, Smedts, Paine, Couch (1st emergency) have all been named. Im sure most people already have D.Smith and Kennedy so if you only have 3-4 forward rookies who is the best rookies at of that lot.

I just think people have locked away Dickson without actually thinking about it too much. Smedts has been talked up all preseason by the cats and even when he was injured. Now hes named all that talk was warranted. Scored very well in NAB remember he is B/F so you can pick him as a forward.

Bullshit.

The most green-vested players last year (Breust, Christensen and Gaff) were all non-mature age recruits. They're not midfielder/forwards with some X factor.

Armfield, B Smith, Speight and Jetta got the vest five times - none of them fit those criteria either. None of them were mature age debutants either.

Then you have Roberton, L Anthony, C Garlett, Everitt, Masten, Webberley etc all with 4. How many of them fit your criteria?

It tends to be the fringe players (which players like Armfield were in 2011) that get the vest.

Dickson may indeed get vested because he is certainly not a guaranteed first 21 for the season, but this will be more on the coach's preference rather than any of the misleading information you always come up with.

Pfeiffer isn't playing, Hall another likely sub, Milera could struggle for a game let alone sub with Schneider to come back. Smedts could also find it hard with Hunt to come back - but he doesn't look too bad. Paine might find his way our when Collingwood get a few back and if they choose to play Wood with Jolly. While Couch isn't playing this week either and is a likely sub or run-with player.

So everyone comes with their concerns, I guess a lot of people like the mature-body and the fact there are a few other more-likely sub candidates.

Jetta, Breust, Christensen, Gaff, Speight, Armfield are all either midfielders or forwards and most have X factor.

Tell me what they are if they are not that. Yes because he is fringe is also another reason to go with the above, it goes without saying.

Dickson is 24 from memory, Jetta is 23

Pretty sure Tuck got vested last night, remind me how old he is?

Maybe you keep up this schtick in giving lousy advice to try and increase your chances of winning prizes, who knows. You'd think after a few years you'd get sick of it, but apparently not.

Tuck got the red vest, not the green vest.

I also like how you edited the post to give yourself more caveats once confronted with facts that did not confirm your theories.

Im not talking specifically about the colour of the vest. A vest is a vest.

Can you please tell me what positions

Breust, Christensen, Jetta, Reimers, Rohan, Colyer all play?

Just do that for me can you

I edited my post because nit wits like you happy eagle cant understand what im saying, so i have to take time to post and spell it word by word for you. Everyone that plays forward these days in a small role will spend some time in the midfield thus Midifield/forwards. You may not understand this because your still living in the past.

lol you're hitting out after being called out on your 'advice', nice.

By your strange logic every midfielder in the AFL is a 'midfield/forward'. Way to try and cover your mistake, because it then becomes impossible to argue if you classify every midfielder that kicked a couple of goals in 2011 as a 'midfielder/forward'.

Reimers, Rohan and Colyer weren't even in the most vested players list, dunno what you brought them up.

The green-vest/red-vest dichotomy is actually very important - it is impossible to guess who will get the red-vest when teams are named. Of the 374 subs in 2011, 131 were for injury. Good luck predicting that.

Anything else you wish to try and mislead people with?

Red vest usually goes to someone who is playing badly.

So you simply need to pick someone who wont play badly.
Hey you can use this method to completely win DT :)

And if no one is playing badly? usually a midfield/forward type like Christenesen, Rohan, Colyer, Reimers, Breust, Jetta, Dickson will get subbed

Defenders and Rucks are the less sub affected players based on last year. Forward/Midfielders who typically can play both were the most common.

Deadly small forwards like Milne, Ballantyne, Betts, Lecras ect wont get subbed unless injured as they play more game time forward and are so important to their teams. Those that play closer to 60-70% forward and 30-40% midfield are the most likely sub candidates based on last year.

Love it! That can be my new strategy... only picking good players

How do I make a signature that states Freo will finish Top 4eth (and what does eth mean???) I'm very new!

I don't know if its happened yet, but you dont have to use the sub.

Moving aside from the red vest, after Robbie Gray doing what Robbie Gray does, does anybody have any suggestions for a forward around the 400K mark, maybe a little higher.

I'm almost leaning towards Shaun Higgins after saying never again, somebody please give me some better advice
