Callum Wilson?

Sorry to intrude, guys, but after seeing Callum Wilson in a couple of games last year I thought he was on his way to becoming a regular in your line-up.

Haven't heard much of him since then...

Can he play? Is he injured? Has he played in the pre-seson games?


Would appreciate some info, cos I think he has a future.

He was elevated from the rookie list to the senior list at the end of last season, indicating he was indeed likely to form a regular part of our line-up.

He seems to be fully fit, but has been given very limited opportunity in the NAB Cup. I think he's played about a total of about 3/4's of a game spread across two games. To be fair, he didn't get near it, but then they haven't really created a situation in which he's likely to prosper.

I think most Eagles supporters believe he's our second best KPF option (not including LeCras), but he may suffer from the 3-man interchange bench and the Eagles desire to play 2 ruckmen.

Looking very likely. Kicked 1.4 IIRC, could have had 2-3 goals against Freo. Gun.

The man is under a permanent injury cloud. Fact is though he is at a very cheap price and is a very classy player. If he can actually string a whole season together he could go from being a cheap mid pricer to a keeper. The only disappointing part is that he was named as a midfielder rather than as a backman.

He's coming from a long way back. He's second in line to be upgraded from the rookie list at this stage i would say, hasn't played a senior game in 12 months, doesn't have great disposal and with rosa's position completely secure now he's vying with about 4-5 others for the other wing. Could really turn it on if given the opportunity but i think said opportunity is a long way from happening. Mind you he will be giving it his absolute all to get back on the main list considering he was dropped from the seniors back to the rookies in the offseason.

TBH i was hoping he would drop 1-2 kg's in the offseason to maybe improve pace a little bit. It's a big maybe and as much as i love him as a player i wouldnt pick him in dreamteam. For supercoach sure but in DT theres much better options for the price.

Preseason has been fine. I think he took a big step forward in 09 and had a great year. Since then opposition teams have taken notice of how important he is to our structure and last year he spent a bit of time on the pine. I think he can become an A grader, especially as far as supercoach is concerned but i think this will just be a consolidation year. I think he'll go from being a good player to a great player in 2012.

Shoulder should be fine, he'll play Round 1 I'm pretty sure.

If he keeps his NAB Cup form through the real season he'll be huge for us too.

LeCras look great, probably wont averge a whole lot more then last year but will put in another good 2010 year IMO.

Maybe more of the ball but less goals??

You would think he would spend a little more time in the middle, especially with the potential for decreased midfield rotations and maybe having a few more options when kicking for goal (Shuey, Ebert if he spends more time at HFF, Weedon, Hams, Darling, Wilson......).

I think where LeCras plays depends on how our the team is travelling. Typically from what I've noticed is he plays deep forward when we are on a losing streak. When we start winning he tends to be let loose a bit more. Could be crazy talk but thats what I remember noticing.

I have $330k to spend on a defender and don't like anyone in that range until I get to him priced $290k and MPP for mid.

Looked a handy player last year, any concerns? Good pre-season?
