If they put it on channel 9 it would rate through the roof  .
I can see in the future these interviews being put on websites in members only areas.

haha I would say that would be decades away at the AFC after todays debactle I saw on the news.
Did you see Phil Harper get security to kick out the media today because they were filming the process of the Craig interview through the window?

ludicrous!

I can understand that upsetting the Crows.

But supporters are demanding more information and more transparency each season.
It'll be sooner than you think ;)

Did you see the footage though?
It was a grainy shot from god knows how far away, it was not worth all the trouble, i was very suprised at the Crows response.

I would love to see the whole process though! :)

I'm talking about having the interview process taped professionally in the interview room.

The media attempt to tape from outside is junktime :p

I think we have got mixed up here.

The grainy footage I was talking about was of the media today taking footage through the window.

I was suprised at the drastic response of the AFC to stop this footage...why bother? we were not going to get anything out of it.

Any proper footage taken I would welcome to see.

Good one Rucci. Keeping up his usual standard.

Totally off topic; but maybe we could start a thread listing what Rucci actually guesses, er gets right and wrong. I am sure the end tally after a couple of weeks would be more interesting.

Next time mate do me a favour and send in the number of voters registered as well to give your email a bit more credibility:p

They dismissed it off as saying we don't know how many people voted.
Yeah, sorry, I rushed it and forgot about that. Still (1) I'm not sure a sample size of 70-odd or whatever it was at the time, wouldn't give them equal excuse to dismiss it and (2) I don't think Cornesy was totally dismissive - he sort of went "hmmmm" and then qualified it by asking about sample size. Anyway. I'll do better next time :)

I am no Craig supporter, but frankly the way the Swans played footy under Eade was rather boring, defensive, often superflood stuff. Before we all sign, seal and deliver the bloke, will we be happy with our team playing this type of footy long term? Are we happy to accept something like the current Swans type approach of winning at any cost to the spectacle of football?

I am undecided on Eade, but I ask the rest of you does Eade = "Anything but Craig" for you?

a question- when a coach gets sacked from a club, does he get the hint about not playing that style of football? that it wasn't worth them keeping him at their club? I'm guessing most the time when a coach gets sacked its because of the way they are playing the game, then also the way they handle themselves to the board.

So being Eade to the Crows he MIGHT change his game plan? he might not? who knows. All most people realise is Eade has something the Craig doesn't. Eade has AFL experience under his belt. Craig as a bike.

You never know if the Crows don't hire Eade, and use Craig instead I would feel rather let down.

-edit i forgot a word... :(

Of course I have. And of course I understand that we have been playing a pretty defensive, ugly style of football. I am not endorsing Craig.

What I am saying is that all these gushing Eade endorsements smell to me of "anyone but Craig", not "Eade is THE man for the job". I know that it is down to these two men now, but does that mean we will have selected the best man for the job at the end of the process?

If I have to choose one of these two, then sure, pick Eade. But I have my reservations.

It gets worse. In this morning's Advertiser Rucci says

...Eade distanced himself from suggestions ... that he wanted an answer by the end of the week. "I'm not in a hurry at this stage," said Eade...

But Michaelangelo fails to quote the exact words used by Eade in response to the question about the deadline (and therefore about Michaelangelo's Tussday article):

"Totally untrue." :p

That comment about Eade is a lie. His Swans played some often thrilling football, attacking in waves from the backlines. He invented the flood, but used it as an attacking move - it was TERRY WALLACE who took the flood to its disgraceful, boring conclusion. Remember that Essendon-Bulldogs game, when the Bulldogs were the only team to beat Essendon that season? Disgusting, boring, negative game, engineered by that man Wallace to shut down the Bombers and bore them to a loss.

The Swans in 1996 were sensational. When Eade left, his team could have been top 4 but for a few close losses, they were still in fine form, however he did not have as capable a side so they no longer played such thrilling football - after all, Roos has come in with the same team and played even more boring football - suggests something about the team, not necessarily the coach.

I want Eade not because he is not Craig - I stated that I wanted him more than Wallace when Wallace was actually available. Eade is one of the best modern matchday tacticians to have coached, and that is something we sorely missed under Ayres. Eade is innovative, Ayres was not.

You beat me to it, arrowman. ;)

Michaelangelo also fails to point out that the "suggestions" came from Rucci himself.

What a chump. :D

I can't understand how someone in his position can just make up whatever he wants and have it published.

Also, did anyone see Eade on Talking Footy last night? After ignoring his presentation to the Crows for 90% of his interview, they asked him if he had spoken to Ayres about Adelaide. He said that he would talk to him if he got the job, and then he said, "So I'll be talking to you soon, Garry".

Anything in that?

Exactly right. People have poor memories. Eade developed an attacking style that delivered the ball quickly to Plugger in an open forward line on a small ground where quick movement of the ball is essential. Clogging up the opponent’s forward line was a secondary benefit.

Other coaches such as Wallace developed the defensive nature of the tactic (coaches like Neil Craig use it) & it gets dubbed the flood. Eade got the "credit" for it so people automatically assume it was boring & negative.

What it was, was a coach developing a tactic that suited both the players at his disposal & utilising the peculiarities of his home ground.

Your probably right, Jars.

Also rather predictable that Watson, or the others, failed to notice it.

(Good to see you back, Jars)

If Jacko remains a Craig man, IMO there's no way his opinion should be allowed to be part of the final recommendation as he can't be considered to have participated in the "process".

Spot on!!!!!!!

Well, I don't have the article to hand but as I recall Rucci used the weasel words "It has been suggested that..." or something like that. Of course, given his habit of writing his own opinions and dressing them up as though they came from someone else, I don't believe that for a minute.

On the other hand, maybe he's being strung along by the AFC "sources" who even now are laughing at his expense.
