It was a great game but I think you are off your rocker about the umpires..there were at least 2 50 metre penalties that resulted in goals for you guys. Anyway no point focusing on umpires and anyway I thought they were ok and consistent for what was a tough game.

Livingstone was fantastic all day, just showed what a class act he is. Abers controlled the game and were deserved winners. I watched Greenvale destroy Marby there last year but we all know what happened in finals so can't read too much into the win but fantastic for Abers and the comp

The umpiring wasnt bad yesterday, but it needs to be more consistent. Having 3 umpires out there, only for the fat one to give decisions 60 metres away, is really not great umpiring. There were a few decisions that were very iffy, but overall they were ok.

Having not watched Abers since last year, they have improved greatly( understatment i know), and are very slick and very quick, and with the influx of ex AFL and country recruits they will be there right at the business end.

Marby looked very flat and very lazy and it could be the loss they needed to get it in their heads that there is a side who is a real threat to them.

Funny comment from a Abers bloke near me, who said 'money cant buy you everything'. Well from what i saw yesterday, Abers have definately spent plenty to be where they are now, and good on them.

If you cant beat them join them i say.

You have got to be kidding. Agree the umpiring wasn't great but it hardly went our way. The Marby players carried on and tried to rough up the likes of Skippy and Rabee and it blew up in their face. How many frees did you want in the last quarter? Or had you gone home by then, the silence when Marby kicked the first goal in the last quarter was deafening.

You would like to think by now teams would know they can't rough up experienced players like Haouchar. The bloke is as hard as they come and keeps getting up and runs all day.'
Concede he is going to get it and stop his supply to the ball carriers and runners.

Of Course you were happy with the umpires mate you follow Abers!

What about the 2 goals you got in one hit and the all frees in front of goal, I think the young umpire must barrack for you guys, but as I stated you deserved the win but got everything the first 3 quarters.

By the way Rabee took a cheap shot in the pack and broke one of Marby players nose, will keep.

Great summery of what happened!

No one ever thinks the umpire are good but on Sat they were realy bad for both side! you would think in such a big game the EDFL would asign the best they have & if that was the case on Sat then the comp is in real trouble!
But well done to Abers they deserved the win & they may have helped us as the focus will now be put on them!

Great for the competition to have a "new' team step up and be a contender in the 4, will be great to see Abers & OPark up against Marby & Greenvale in this years finals. Does anyone give a chance to T.Lakes to win a couple and stay up? Although not getting wins on the board Doutta seem to have improved(apart from 2nd half Saturday). I'd think there would be a few nervous people at Avondale, they are paying big $$$'s to CJ(no problem there the man is a gun player) and up to now for NO resuts. At least Doutta & TL aren't spending 35k on their coach!

Rumour has it that lance whitnall has told craigieburn that he won't be playing next year as he is keen to take up a coaching position. He has already attracted intrest from an A grade club. As an ex Carlton captain his connections could bring alot to the club

Yeah until i read the article I didn't actually realise we got 2 goals from that decision, I thought it was just a re-take of the kick so I agree that it was a very harsh penalty against you guys...anyway, what I was really saying is it's silly to focus on umpiring because the game was a great contest...I loved all the contested in close stuff and the tackling was fantastic from both teams. It was pretty awesome to watch two terriers like Skipworth and Ayres go at it and Broadbent and Rabee as well. The marking duals between Stewart and Florence and Suarez and Boyd and Houli / Craven and Aisake / Livingsotne were again pretty awesome as well.

PS. Not saying that the broken nose didn't happen, but the only cheapie I saw was the flying elbow on Peverill after he kicked in the 2nd term?

ha ha again. Mate you must have a big memory bank. Its amazing as a player you come out with this stuff time and time again on here. Such a good clean side Marby.

Looking forward to the Marby v Abers game this week. Should be a cracker, word has it that Marby have named Brodie Holland this week, Watched him train last night on the river side of the oval with the rest of the 1's still looks fit and disposal was better than most out there. A massive in for Marby and also adds a little bit more toughness around the ball.
Also could there be new addition from another club to take up a spot beside Luke Livingston in the forward line... watch this space!
Marby by 7 goals.

Is a tall ruckman named Anthony Trigg playing with Marby??? He has been named in the Great Britain squad for the International Cup in August... How is he getting on??

Douttas were in it until half way through the 3rd quarter an then keilor took it up a cog , Douttas could not keep up , as far as coaches go , could not get better blokes than Jock and Marcus both on the right track there methinks

Just taking after you, I see you are not denying anything.
Mate we play a hard tackling game yes but no cheap shots in the packs like Rabee!

How about some praise for the Abers coach who after the Akermanis distraction last week, was able to mentaly prepare his team to face the back to back champs. Also if the Lance thing is true then could he be in the ear of a certain pres that see's stars?

Can confirm the incident and that in fact it was a knee to a player lying on the ground:mad: but what goes around comes around as they say!;)
we have long memories at Marby!:D

Long memories, payback etc?!
Gees, the ones you worry about in life are the ones that don't talk about it.
You might as well ring the bloke and tell him but l'm pretty sure Haouchar wouldn't be too fazed. He has copped his fair share of cheap ones over the years.

If it wasn't a "king hit" or "kick by foot" with intent then play on l say.

Might not be a bad thing for Craigieburn to see Lance take the ropes would surely free up some much needed cash that Barnard would be taking to be used on players and could see the return of the like of Nolan who from all reports gets along really well with Lance.

Anyone know how long Branard is contracted for?

Correct Haoucher is a terrible user of the footy, let him get it and feed off the turnovers

I would follow skipworth closely and let the others go

Correct, it should be a cracker of a finals series this year.
I still have Marby Park at the top, there experience and the players they still have to come back are going to be hard to beat come the business end of the season.

Our memories go back way before the game on the weekend! anyway what happened happened! not much point going on about it now!;)

Rumour doing the rounds that the duck Wayne Carey will play 2 games for Marby. Holland also set to return for second half of the year.

Wayne Carey to play? There would be no chance of that happening!
If anything it would piss talk at a function/sportsmen night then come morning and sober, no chance.
If it was to happen it would of been years ago at the stars when Kade was in his prime.

Wayne Carey did appear at a Marby sportsmen night the other night so he may said something then if he was serious.
