NS 18's did well, didn't get the chocolates but probably best performance in well over a season and a bit. Got a couple of young guns in that team that backed up in the seniors. Twos had plenty on the bench, but were beaten by over 6 or 7, but good signs and the seniors started to gel after half time. Only have about 4 or 5 from last year perhaps less, so a new side will take time. Awfully young though. MV good club. All games were played in great spirit, didn't even see one scuffle in any of the games. Northern will do enough to stay up and reload for year after, but let's see, youngsters can achieve anything. Not overly in depth and really didn't want to mention names.

It's good to see northern changing there list an club for the better And full credit to the hard workers behind the scene who are involved in that process but after reading a few posts on here about how they will surprise a few people this year and then seeing them first hand myself . I was expecting more they are a very young side with a lot of new faces and of course new sides take time to gel together . But I'm predicting them to bottom out an face relegation with Hadfield which sometimes has to happen to move forward again . Hopefully they can stay in div 1 whilst doing so

Yes watched

Had a look at Glenroy today and pretty impressed. Started shaky into the wind, but looked better for the next 3. Loved their run out of defense and they've got a fair bit of size about them too. The club would have to be excited with the quality of their youngsters coming through.

Didn't have them in my top 4, but will be dangerous.

I saw only the first half of this game Windside were up by 60 at halftime looked young and tall the new ruckman from NS has a rippa haircut

Mel, I think the senior 3rds, and allowing clubs to have multiple junior teams even though they might not have enough juniors to fill a side, are killing some of the "lower" ranked clubs.
Just to clarify my point a team can have a junior side even though they have say 15 kids. Take there money at say 300 a pop which is 4500. Then the league allows them to continue on as they have this fair game rule in where the other team "should" play only 1 more player on the field even if you have 24 kids. It's a joke!!!
The stronger get stronger and weak get weaker. Another 5 years and a number of clubs will struggle to survive or not be around..
