Mel, I think the senior 3rds, and allowing clubs to have multiple junior teams even though they might not have enough juniors to fill a side, are killing some of the "lower" ranked clubs.
Just to clarify my point a team can have a junior side even though they have say 15 kids. Take there money at say 300 a pop which is 4500. Then the league allows them to continue on as they have this fair game rule in where the other team "should" play only 1 more player on the field even if you have 24 kids. It's a joke!!!
The stronger get stronger and weak get weaker. Another 5 years and a number of clubs will struggle to survive or not be around..
What's your thoughts??

I don't have answers but agree entirely.

At the moment the amount of sides in U16 which have less than 15 players on teamsheet is alarming.

Maybe they haven't completed the lists on website. If not, then not good.

I can't see the league ever limiting junior team numbers at clubs.

Good win for Taylors Lakes today. May well be flying under the radar. Other 3 games as predicted, although I thought OP would be a bit closer at home. I reckon only Tulla and Westy will seriously challenge the Eagles.

Looking at the results I thought the oak park was surprising. But then checked the team sheets and craigieburn were at full strength and oak park missing 4-5 top quality players. With the inclusion of potter 3 time Greenvale premiership player they might be a real threat to westy and tulla to finish in 2nd spot

doesnt have a clue because he thinks the supposedly unbeatable craigieburn rolled a team who had one less scoring shot at home a chance at 2nd spot?? All it showed me today was that if you shut down the two big fellas down forward craigieburn are just another team.. Jason Cloke clearly the difference and as he should be! Oaks will be there abouts come the business end, butchered the footy on occasions but will be better for the loss.
If anything it showed me how competitive the compition will be this year, the Eagles far from walk up premiers, half you blokes tipped them by 50.

I thought oak park looked good moved the ball well and will be there abouts although the game was scrappy and not the highest standard.
Robbo looks to be a handy inclusion for eagles having 7 shots on goal and with Fletcher still to come in they have a lot of options up there, my only concern is whether there will be enough goals for all of them to remain happy with the opportunity.

Craigieburn were not at full strength.

No where near our best 22 yet to win ugly by 31 points you would take that anytime.
Oak park will trouble a lot of sides along the way if there not paid enough respect.

Score probably doesn't reflect how dominate tulla was, and I think there's more improvement in tulla than glenroy

I agree tulla dominated glenroy and made them look slow I missed the 1st qtr but apparently winter kept them in it, I went to crazy/OP and tulla/roys IMO i don't think either side from the late game can get near cragieburn, I was optimistic with glenroy's recruiting early on but they look slow and some of the boys that have come from div3 who i was told would not be in best 22 played and simply not up to it, I don't think terror can keep giving these guys games based on being mates or roys will be no where near finals, tulla will be worried by height and don't think have the cattle to match crazy's bigs in the long term!

From the early game OP will be a tough side to beat they were very competitive and I think jason cloke was the difference on the day, but in saying the crazy fwd line would better than more than few A grade sides fwd setups, good luck trying to stop them all on any given day!

Respect the EDFL shows Craigieburn no respect and if I had any influence at Craigieburn I would take them to the NFL where clubs do not get treated like shit. And talk about away rooms Oak Park and Marby Park are not anywhere near a good standard and others I have seen I have been in bigger toilets.

I have absolutely no problem with there recruits at all. I have a problem when people make it personal about a club as little fella did in a previous post. He Doesn't mind the personal attacks on a club/player as I have seen posts over last season and then this post aswell. Unless his clubs facilities are perfect he shouldn't be telling other clubs to rattle Tins. No im not from OP But find it highly disrespectful to the people that put in the hours at oak park.

One Crazy poster snipes at another club, others understandably return serve, then another Crazy poster cracks the sads and wants to head over to the Northern league..
I'd have thought that it's pretty clear why people are rolling their eyes and it has nothing to do with jealousy.
