Those field umpires are a disgrace take nothing away from Oak Park ,one of those umpires everytime he umpires a Craigieburn game it puts them 5 goals behind from the start.If they are umpiring the possibly match of the day it says more about the EDFL than anything.But well done to Oak Park they played well

All you want is consistency and it's simply not happening. If you have a 50 for late contact in a marking contest, then you want a 50 in the next two, three or four following. Just hope the latest couple of injuries aren't too serious.

not the greatest start to a coaching career for Tankard. Taken a team that played in the prelim to basically having to now beat EK to survive. Would be massive if Lakes or Roys (who played in the gf 2 years ago) went down. Tulla will now need to pull a rabbit out to make finals. Looks like being an exciting last 4 weeks.

No injury to kite kicked 4 in the first then say the game on the bench a couple of twos guys from Glenroy wanted to push and shove and I guess he believes he has bigger fish to fry than 2s footy. No injury
While Carey got through today next week kite and Carey could play there first game together

they didn't seem up to it and from what I seen they had their full side in..?

Lance starving for some success in division 1, it makes sense to wanna be relegated to division 2 to chase a flag.

What a stupid thing to say! How does it make sense to wanna be relegated? EDS were just to classy. Even though it kills me to say this but I really cant see anyone beating them. But having said that, if they go into Premier League next season with that side, they wont win many games IMO.

yeah I agree mate they will struggle with the same team...

but looking at it from someone who personally doesn't care about what happens for the rest of the season, I'd definitely rather be recruiting players for premier division,
than trying to recruit players to come play division 2..
you might as well recruit street fighters n prepare for all in brawls every game because that's the standard in division 2....
but having said that,
the bright side would be that once you've hit rock bottom there's only 1 way from there and that's up! ...

They would beat APW and West Coburg easily and would go ok against Marby.

Glenroy, like Craigieburn are playing a lot of kids. Uneedakleenex or theaussieone might be able to tell us just how many, so they deserve a little bit of leeway. I think they're setting themselves up nicely for the future rather than seeing it in a negative light.

Hillside way to good today in a fiery game..

Yesterday's game at Hillside, there was an incident in the first quarter in where Taylor's #10 was hurt and was on the ground being attended to for a while. He was put into the recovery position and then moved to the Hillside area under the coaches box. An ambulance was called. A lot of concern was held for him especially his family and brother #1. I didn't see the actual incident as was standing near the clubrooms but from what I hear he copped a knee to the head. There was a bit of push & shove after but nothing really serious. The first quarter went for about 45mins.
There was a good crowd there and a lot of spot fires throughout the game but nothing to serious and don't think there were any reports. The loss of player #10 hurt Taylor's as his there best player I'm told.
The first half was tight but in the third quarter Hillside took over and were the better side. There Jets boys went well for Hillside and #4 is a very good player.
Taylor's looked a bit slow and seemed to have a few players over the age of 28. But I'm just guessing on there age. Slow forward line.
In closing we all hope the injured player is well and makes a full recovery.

Looks like Mitch Jensen back at Douttas full time. Huge get!! The kids to good for div1 but it's "his" club I suppose.. That's made them favourites in my book.

Kade adds a bit of toughness and unpredictability, and will be interesting if it's a fiery grand final.

Well, I still thought we'd win, but didn't factor in losing Heenan after 10 minutes and Jesse Davies 15 minutes prior to halftime and even then still backed our boys to get the job done. Didn't happen.

We aren't "blooding young kids" they're there on merit and the future of the club and yes we should be performing better. Hey Mel, the whole competition would have had the Eagles as favourites based on your pre season recruiting, hype and early form.

With regards to which side gets relegated it's my opinion that both Glenroy & EK are playing youngsters which hopefully sees them stay up, as they are trying to build a future. If they were to go down you can't have a young side playing div2. As for Taylors Lakes they are probably more capable of playing div2 with their stronger bodies. Only my opinion. Interesting times. Hillside struggling a bit also but have been lucky to get they have some good young talent keeping them up maybe..

Back to premier for me from next week. It's not easy to watch to many div1 games.

Do agree the umpiring isn't the best but you take the good with the bad. It's div1 after all so you won't get the best umpires.
