Must have been a full moon on Friday night lads as it seems as though there was some damage caused on the weekend.... We're making the WRFL look like the Amateurs ?!?!?!?!
Any word on the injuries to Steve McKee ?? This type of incident to an ex AFL player will not do the leauge any good at all... We are trying to attract better players (and have done so over the last 5 years) to the competition not see them leave in droves due to mindless cowardly acts late in the season....
From watching the Craigieburn v Keilor game on the weekend their seemed to a lot of top up older reserves types (very frustrated) playing in Craigieburn team...
Interesting to look at the Craigieburn philosophy since the sacking of coaches in Round 11... Not one of the 5-6 Under 18 kids who played early in the season have played in the senior team since this date ???? Why wouldn't you be playing your good young kids when finals are out of reach ?? Wouldn't playing alongside Nolan, Sage, Brooks, King & Hall be great for the youngsters coming through ?? Can anyone shed any light on this perceived lack of faith in the kids??
From my observations this year I can't speak highly enough of the behaviour of all teams throughout the course of the season... Hopefully we can get through the last round everyone can enjoy their Sunday / Monday & Probably Tuesday beers before watching Greenvale, Marby Park, Keilor & Smore fight out for the Flag......

Not rating ourselves at all, just agreat effort to win in A grade with just 6 players from the B grade flag side. There are a couple of boys getting a game at the moment that could not get a game in last years B reserve finals side.
Well done,to the boys they may have been hammered nearly every week but they have remained positive & disciplined.
The B grade to A grade debate they faced at the start of the year has been done to death on here but i think the commitee should be congratulated for thinking about the future of the club, and by future i am talking about the next 5-10-15 years not 2009getting the rooms built had to be their priority, they knew what was coming but why should they pay players 3-4 times what their worth with no gaurantee of staying up.
Lets face it there are 24 clubs in the EDFL all breaking their a---s to pay players and be successful but you only have to look at the top 4 in A grade to see the disparity between the have and have nots (good luck to them by the way).
At the end of the day there are plenty of clubs out there in both grades that are paying thousands more than the Roys but apart from the top four we are ALL in the same boat, some have just paid more for ther seat.

Sorry to burst your bubble mate but the umpiring this year in b grade has been of the worst standard that i have personally seen, there are to many umpires trying to have an impact on the game and in the end it becomes farcical. They same to have lost the feel for the game and most umpire with the whistle in there mouth
