The Rep game will be held on Queens B'Day weekend. It is 50-50. Thats all I can say. It will not be against Western Region FL.

will the game be played in Victoria??

Caveman you are correct mate. I noticed last year that Marby's bar and canteen takings from match days was nearly $10K up from the year b4 and sponsorship was $12K over. When your winning it attracts more supporters, sponsors which naturally creates more revenue. Love the websites mate.

Thanks Matt. When I lived in Geelong I followed a footy team (Belmont Lions) who had only won 1 game in 3 seasons. I turned up no matter what and there was maybe a dozen other supporters. When they recruited and started winning they had easily a couple of hundred supporters.

Where were these supporters in the hard times? That is the problem!

You really have to question Barclays loyalty to Keilor Park. He really shouldnt be walking out on them as they need him.

Another thing I have to question is his hardness!

why does everyone here think that the standard of the wrfl is lower than the edfl. the top 6 in division 1 wrfl wouls certainly take it up to keilor and greenvale and strathmore. wrfl may not have the depth of the edfl but its best teams are some of the best in metro melbourne.

The game will probably be played in Victoria. That's the plan. Got some big news to confirm.

Justin Murphy is the New Assistant Coach of Maribyrnong Park F.C for season 2006. 18 AFL games, last year & 3 Brownlow votes. THe club have secured him a great job through a large Printing Firm in Operations.

That's great news, but it was actually 17 games.

Congratulations Matty! What an awesome pick up. Especially for a B grade club. Will definitely have to come down for the West Coburg and Marby clash at Shore Reserve!

I watched G'Vale and Strathmore's G.Final and Parksides and Colts a week later and both of those sides would of beaten the WRFL's by at least 10 goals.

There are extenuating circumstances to why Marcus Barclay has left Keilor Park. He hasn't walked out on them as such.

They have done the first 4 weeks of Pre-season there, but have not signed yet. Do not be suprised if you see them back at the Jets.

They will return to the Jets, with an extra 0 on their paypackets, thanks for keeping them fit Heidleberg.

The justin Murphy saga continues, he has not completley shut the door on Heidleberg but has informed them that he will be training there and has not left his potential club on bad terms.

You cannot expect people to believe all this crap you are talking. There are so many thing i would disagree with here i have forgotten most. Firstly the jets were not generous with cardamone, corr, sash, dave k, nurdy, mo, and webber- ALL LEFT because they didnt get a game. Mate you dont get paid in the two's. When they play seniors for marby they get approx double than they get at an a grade club.

In reference to Zerafa, you are just a lier. A 1/4 of what he got at greenvale is a lie. How can you sit there an say that. I was round at his new house the other day just sinking into his brand new leather couches, and he stated the marbo package was greater than greenvales offer. And matty you know what i mean! His finger could also cause problems.

In regards to garbutt, the money at marbo is big. Saw him for a momment at motel recently in between a sway of blonde 20 something girls. Garbs' knee is really battered and was told medically never to play football again. He cant play in the ruck anymore and is turning 32. Westons knee is also gone and his best footy far gone. At the end of the day Westie, garbs, sash, are looking for quick cash to blow over the bar whilst at the world cup.

In reference to douttas they have lost a lot of players but picked up alot aswell. Hehir is no where near the player he was a few years ago, but hopefully has calmed down a lil as well. He is still capable of some big performances however, as his gvfl final performances show. There was some talk of him sniffing out some other offers after he had apparently signed, and was seen at pre season training for a rival club.

L. Piconie is very close to being signed at east keilor.

With the 2006 flag wrapped up several months ago it amazes me matty that you call hille a great coach. Surley you must realise the side with the most money win. He is not great at all, he had $30k more than Keilor and greenvale last year and almost lost. local football grand finals are won in january not september or in strathmores case november.

Finally surely it has to be abers the big movers in 2006. Picked up some quality players who have been listed through out this thread.

Aussie Dude, your back! And still talking sh*t. Lance Piconne to East Keilor...., surely you are taking the **********. He will play at Old EG's before he plays there.

Also, still waiting to hear, who according to you, the unpaid Strathmore Players are

He did talk with EK though, but This bloke 'Aussie Dude' is tripping...
Murphy left on good terms with Heidelberg, but is signed, sealed and delivered as our new Ass Coach. He starts his new job Marby got him tomorrow.

Dwighty your good. Murph only spoke to Trevor this afternoon.

The EDFL I hear may be working on an open clearance system. From what I know unless you are signed then you can change clubs at will.
I am not certain that this will apply in 2006 though.

All I am certain is that Glenn Allison just finished lunch with Marc Bullen and Ben Haynes who are both playing SANFL this year and have signed them for 2007, if Marby do make A Grade. Marc "Bulldog" Bullen's brother in-law Anthony Scooby- Cooked Howard is a Marby Senior player.

arn't Bullen and Haynes already on S.A?? And how do you know so much about them???

Haynesey moved there on the 3rd, but is back for the week and Bulley moves there next week. Just been mates through friends for a few years. Both good blokes.

They trained with Marby b4 Xmas as did Murph and you should of seen how pumped up the younger boys were.
Zerafa still beat the 3 in the sprints though. He is a freak. Bangit was close with them.

matty what have you heard about oak park i no they lost turbo to sunbury
and supposedly sheppard to aberfeldie any other news?

One club I have not heard anything about is Jacana.
How are they travelling. They took a step up last year. With the development of the B grade comp and the high standard is it to much to expect that they will be able to do the same again?
Any pick ups or losses that anyone knows about?

Jacana had a crisis meeting over the weekend, to determine whether they will actually fold or continue in the EDFL B Grade Competition. No Money whatsoever. The meeting was very positive & constructive, and looks like they'll get the support to continue in the competition
