Question: Why doesn't EDFL run a top 5 in each of its divisions similar to NFNL?
It would provide an extra 2 finals games per division and keep the season alive for more clubs
Thoughts??

As I have no EDFL player stats, they are just made up placeholders. VFL stats are real.

Still working on positions and player values, and whether we need a Sub. Salary Cap is now $140,000 and trades will set two per round.

Any thoughts or ideas, please let me know.

And APW have put out some terrible performances considering the $$$'s they are paying
They were pretty flat on Saturday and didn’t have many winners on the day. Tyson Young is a huge out, and heard he will still miss a few more through injury, in the conditions on Sat he would have been a handful.
APW started very well and on top for at least the first 20 mins but failed to convert some very easy chances. From then on it was all Douttas, dominated around the footy all day and were far too committed and tough for APW. Gentile got the tag and was well held, not sure how he was named in the best ?
Game was over at HT and I thought the final margin flattered APW if anything. Bailey Ryan was the best fwd on the ground and Mercieca in the ruck towelled up Cullen. DiSebastiano clear best for APW, he was great all day.
I don’t see APW making a similar run like they did last season, especially whilst Young not out there. Pacco have just lost another key position player (Ernst) and Ben Allan out with injury too, might be a down year for them.
Greenvale aren’t going anywhere near well enough to make it.
Might leave Douttas, Marby and Deer Park fighting out the last 2 spots. Good for the comp, think most of us had Douttas and Marby battling out 8th & 9th.

Watch out for Doutta Stars. They have some very good young players coming through.
Yes indeed, plus their 2’s are going ok, and the 18.5’s are undefeated to date. Would be long overdue and great for the comp and their long suffering supporters if Douttas were able to climb up the ladder and become a powerhouse once again. Hopefully they at least get to play finals this season.

What’s the intel on Pascoe Vale ? Gone from grand finalist to bottom of the ladder ??

Could be a very pivotal game then this weekend, Stars vs Marby, could be a cracker!!!!!!

Very true, I know a few people at Doutta Stars and they have done a great job in creating a fine community ethos so the juniors want to stay and be part of it. Thats what club footy is all about.
Should be congratulated on what they have done in the last 3-4 years . Slowly built from from the ground up . Lesson for other newbie clubs

I think it’s great what douttas have done and great work to build up to a competitive club as the league need a strong Douttas. Still disagree with the league allowing the 18.5 age group to play div1 footy the other year as yes it benefits douttas but disadvantages other clubs at the same time.

Example although different is Craigieburn. There 18.5 lose players to Coates league and they play a lot in there seniors to the disadvantage of 18s winning at times but the growth will be there in years to come. They don’t complain and see the senior coach being actively involved in the 18s team is commitment from senior coach. That’s hard for me to admit but it’s accurate.

Agree . Clubs need an experienced coach to set the club up and work with all grades and coaches. Maybe the money is better spent on an experienced coach from a higher level who can do this rather than just players
