What do we all think the Team of the year is looking like?

After a couple of days assessing the performance of the greatest club of all time aberfeldie I am ready to share my report on the game.

The EDFL should be ashamed of the surface in which high ranking premier division teams were made to play on for Saturday's finals, it was clearly an effort to stop the run and carry of the mighty abers and the league has an agenda.

The kiosk was great and I would like to extend gratitude to the glenroy football club for providing aberfeldie with its own marquee and bar.

The umpiring was a disgrace and they cost us the game, we were definitely not beaten fair and square by 55 points and had the decisions not have been so biased the mighty abers would be playing keilor this week for a spot in the big dance.

The umpire reporting our number 27 for a fair bump on the footy should hang his head in shame and never officiate a game again.

Now the mighty abers will take on deer park in a semi, oh wait they lost hahahha suck shit, we will play airport west and it should be a cracking contest.

Best of luck to the cheating strathmore as much as i hate them i hope they beat mighty micks mob.

Disagree, the game was lost because the ground was shocking as were the umpires.

This competition is a joke and I hope the mighty abers consider a move to the WRFL, a top premier competition where you cannot buy trophies and the surfaces and kiosks are A1 standard.

Flagrilla, the only weeks you get the bad decisions are v strathmore or keilor. Otherwise Abers get looked after by umpires most weeks in most grades of footy. Suck it up buddy..

Agree though the fixturing of grounds for finals is a big joke and embarrassing. Even in Div 1 the higher final was at burnside and the lower final at keilor. Work that out..

Keilor has the facilities, ground, scoreboard and it’s good viewing from all around the ground. Yes we can’t allow them all the profits so why can’t something be sorted to allow a “share system” for all premier clubs in premier finals to make some coin.

Not sure others grounds are capable with fencing, car parking etc??

I think it’s going to be tough. Played on 46/46 points and the 1 pointers have been around for a very long time and obviously not able to get to a GF now, and they aren’t going to get better next year. To replace them you need bring in Multi point players. Or move on the 5/6 pointers who didn’t make the impact expected.
I’m laughing on the inside at this result.

and a coach who can compete with the modern game! the blokes asleep at the wheel and Deer Park have not been competitive since they beat Airport West in June

So after 2 weeks of chest beating and shit talking, all we got was an elimination final crash out?

Wasn't even to one of the traditional big boy's!! Airport West are a phenomenal footy club but geez they would have a third of the pull as the mighty DP, those TAB printers will be working overtime after the footy trip, will be interesting to see who they are going to overpay next year!

Haha spot on Grem, will only take until Mid October and the silly season will send the faithful back into overdrive!

In all seriousness i would love to see another side come in and give those at the top a shake up (honestly could not care if that was Deer Park), but their model just won't work in the current environment.

Would be better investing those $$ into the community and facilities but the ego's involved will demand immediate success.

A courier driver came into work today who follows DP said that there is trouble brewing between the head honcho tab voucher men and some ex coaching staff members over the direction the club is taking and too much interference in their football department . Trouble in paradise it seems. Stay tuned

Surely what I’ve heard today isn’t true, player(s) out the night before a final? That’s surely not the professional outfit that Pat lured the players from EK to go with the promise of wads of cash and success! I said at lunch there’s no way that would be true

No doubt it would’ve affected Deer Park more, a number of players couldn’t watch as he laid motionless and my heart goes out to those affected - horrible scenes I’ve not witnessed on a footy field before.

A club is much bigger than a Senior Premiership. Couldn’t be happier with how they are going, should result in all teams being strong for a long time. Also very sustainable method and the next Premiership (19th) will be chock full of Douttas kids.

I think the deer park bashing is absolutely fair enough and warranted but I think we should lean some credit to apw. Not on just yesterday’s performance but the last 6-7 weeks. They’ve come the tough way and At 4-8 a few on here wrote them off and fair enough too!! Amazing how it unfolds when you get key players back. Middle third of the year they were absolutely ravaged with there big names out. Some would call it luck or just timing? They are thick as thieves down there and they won’t be satisfied going down to Abers this week I can tell you that much. Besides Keilor they are the only club to knock everyone off in this comp in the last two years! Take that for what you will!! Both senior grades are dancing with the big 3 and that’s something that’s not easy to sustain but they are on the right path and go about it the right way.

This might be a bit of glazing to a degree but just a lil shoutout to the mighty eagles. Small club big heart

Absolutely, well done to APW. Have no idea how they lure some of those players down there (there is definitely some big $$ involved - Hanson Young Gentile Rider would not be cheap!) but well done especially after the start they had.

Can they get the job done against Abers? I think the EDFL world will be hoping so.

Thats right they didn't beat Pascoe Vale the week after Pascoe Vale beat Keilor. Get with it or get off the keyboard.
