The next rankings update will be next monday, top 10 should be mostly unchanged. A few bolters and sliders a little later in the order, some performances in the practice match on the weekend have either improved or lowered their position.

I will also bring up a few players that are very close to making my top 50 or have been their abouts for awhile that played on the weekend.

Angus Hanrahan
Michael Mummery
Scott Carlin
Sam Fletcher
Will Kelly

Someone might have raised that name somewhere a few times... then banged on about it. ;)

25 disposals (18 contested), 2 marks, 11 tackles, 1 goal, 1 behind for Thomas against VM.

The games I've seen this season Scotty's been only average...maybe I'm expecting too much from him but that's my feeling as to his performances. From a GWV Rebels draft point of view I'd have Tom Berry [on potential not performance due to his injury riddled season to date], Matty Lloyd and Charlie Wilson ahead of Scott at this point of the season. Charlie Wilson in particular has been highly impressive to my eye for one rarely spoken about.

Berry the clear number one. As for the others, Wilson has been in good form but didn’t even make the extended Country side (really unlucky) while Lloyd has played one game after a huge injury lay-off so I wouldn’t say he’s performed better. Agreed Carlin could have played better, but his foot skills are sublime when on. He can hit those passes few can. Needs to win a bit more hard ball, but he has high enough skill to play outside and hurt the opposition.

Did any of the Allies underagers (2019 draftees) impress
O'Neill from Tassie looks a top 5 pick next year to my eye as an inside/ outside mid

Tom Green GWS academy is a Josh Kennedy clone . Massive body , slow and can't help but rack up 25+ possessions every time he plays at all levels

You've forgiven Scotty for THAT kick in that hit the opposition player flush on the tit 25 - 30 metres out for a resultant goal?? ;)

Remembering that was the VM “Reserves” (many of whom just got cut today from the list which was trimmed to 37).
I’m confident that a few of those Metro boys that played will get drafted. Collier-Dawkins and Rowbottom in particular I believe could even push top 10 this year.

It was also a half strength Allies, so what?

It's not the champs, but it's a better standard than the TAC Cup.

I think it’s fair to say that those who didn’t play were already considered at the top end of the VM list by the selection panel.

Allies split their whole squad in half and played everyone across the two games. Clearly what the selection panel consider to be VM’s best players were rested.

Thomas is being touted as top 3 material - so that output is the minimum you’d expect if he is to reach those heights come November.

Kinda like Sam Walsh who just had a laugh for 2.5 quarters then jumped in the showers.

Again, it's still representative football, it's better than the TAC Cup.

If any midfielder averaged that stat line accross a Tac Cup season they'd be the number 1 pick, im not sure 18 contested possessions, 11 tackles and over a goal a game is the "minimum" required.

Buyer beware if you're an interstate club...;)

Like most draftees their preference is to stay local it’s all about how loyal they would be if they had to move which would sway recruiters

There was a lot of talk last year that Cameron Rayner was a flight risk, he signed a contract extension to the end of 2021 early this year. Loves it up here.

If he's there at our pick and we have him on our board as the best available we will take him and back in our new welfare and retention department to get the job done.

Fine by me as long as you leave Tom Berry for us.:)

The indigenous lads are a bit different though, much bigger connection to family and homeland so already a massive flight risk.. see charlie cameron.

I’d say most clubs would see that interview above with Rankine and be very timid about a prospective future with him..

Might want to change that draft board to show rankine at whatever the crows 1st pick is. Unless wines goes the crows will make sure they have a pick before port
This is hardly an accurate portrayal of how the draft will go down, I’m not factoring bids aswell which would mean both Thomas and Blakey where top 10

For giggles and to keep Knightmare happy, you could move Riley Collier-Dawkins up to Collingwoods first pick, or Curtis Taylor.

Or Izak Rankine down one more. He goes alright also ;)
