Good to see the Port drafter having so much faith in our existing tall forward options. ;)

Yeah I noticed that too but I think from that drafter is was a best available type scenario. That's what I love about having lots of different people doing it. Everyone has a different tactic/draft policy

I wouldn't mind Ball but Richmond have made no sign of taking him, and Ball has shown no indication he wants to go there. I mean in some ways it makes sense, Hardwick would love the toughness Ball provides and would teach some of our younger players a thing or two about fitness, commitment and skill. But I can't see it happening, I see Ball going in the PSD wherever he goes IMO. Other than that, it's solid.

I can't speak for the reasoning behind the other drafters selections but I'm the one that was North Melbourne's drafter so I can give you the reasons behind my selections:

I had to go the best available with my 1st pick in Cunnington. I'm almost certain he'll be a very good AFL player and he's my favourite available this draft. I'd love for the Eagles get him somehow

My 2nd pick I've gone for talent vs risk in Griffiths but I feel he's a big need for the Roos too.

3rd selection in Taylor a huge risk but I couldn't pass him up at that stage

4th was Craig. He as all the physical attributes to be an FB at AFL level. By that I mean he is very strong, has a good leap off either foot and could possibly be moulded in to a FB or FF as well as the obvious as a part time ruck in the big league - anything from here on will be more speculative.

5th - Joel McDonald. A need and a guaranteed quality AFL player as well as experience for the back half. I was wrapped to get him at this stage - *now realised he only nominated for the PSD back when the selections were made I didn't

6th - Gerrick Weedon. Anything at this stage is speculative but you watch his videos if you haven't seen him live and tell me why I wouldn't pick him at this stage. I personally think he'll go a fair bit earlier and end up as a very handy player
