Ekon Powerband disgrace

This is the first I've heard of these things. Frequency-embedded mylar holograms?! FFS - it's the 'materials developed for the space programme' of the 21st century. And those tests are brain-meltingly stupid - first they do something to the person that they've never experienced and then do it again when they know what to expect. What an utter crock. Someone should publicly debunk these guys and take them to the ACCC. Maybe the skeptics society could ridicule them a bit as well.
This! I'd like to see the results of a double blind test.

"The only thing I could offer you would be a placebo"

"Where can we get these placebos?"

"MAYBE THERE ARE SOME IN THIS TRUCK!"

Earlier in the year Triple Js Dr Karl got a question over this and pointed out why its a scam. I can't remember the whole bit, but I'm pretty sure he explained how its a placebo effect by the sales man/woman putting slight pressure on your shoulder to give you resistance when you raise your arms. They say something about the pressure in your shoulder so you don't realise what they're doing. They then put the band on you and get you to raise your arm, but this time without touching your arms/shoulders. So you don't have the resistance to your raising your arms and think wow this actually works.

I wear them on both wrists, and they helped me become a BigFooty Moderator.

Best deal in town.

Our secret! Ye Gods!

Yeah i heard that. They put a hand on the top of your shoulder and it works as resistance. Then they take it off and BOOM! Super strong. Pretty amazing stuff.

Professional liars selling these things and idiots lapping them up.

If you know the slightest thing about compression and shearing force then you'll know how the 'trick' is done.

Gravity is from magic I guess.

I know it's only Today Tonight, but they did some blind testing on the Power Balance band.

It's not surprising that the guy who tested the SEN people was the same sketchy dude that used to run AFAN supplements in Richmond, selling his various snake oils and tablets of dubious efficacy. I guess this is the next step.
