Ashes yes I've unlocked a few but the Mushroom and Wolves have been my most used. NPC's I have not, I got invaded by a cpu NPC (which I assume is the intro to them in the game) when I was lurking around outside one of the caves. I'm yet to summon a character to help in a boss fight (as far as I'm aware I haven't unlocked the ability to do so yet ? - no summon signs on the ground at least).
I don't know why but there was a yellow sign on the floor to Marget for me so used it and it only took me 2 goes as a melee player after falling off the bridge the first time. I think I was lvl 25 ish but didn't check. That and the Wolf Ashes made it pretty easy and I already had a great weapon (Bloodhound Fang) which could staggered him.

I have no issues making the game easier as souls games have a habit of making things unfair anyway. Use all the tools available I recon.

Again as a Souls expert you should know this, but the finger remedy whatevers are the equivalent of humanities :p

I honestly haven't read much into the game prior to playing it and yes as embarrassing as it is, beyond watching some walkthroughs of various sections of the game I'm virtually playing blind not knowing where to go in the game beyond exploring (I'm yet to cheat and just google the locations to get all the map pieces to make life somewhat easier haha) or how to activate something.

Figuring out the 'pouch' system for the horse and the 'ashes summon' was simple enough :p.
In the last day I only just learned how to play with the Ashes of War for your weapon(s).

And yes it's bewildering how I was able to show no fear and take out enemies like the gigantic trolls, crabs, tree sentinel, black knight cavalry etc..... but not be able to take out the first main story boss of the game itself :p

That's crazy talk, Four Kings are way easier than the three I mentioned!

For me it was the hardest, took ages to figure out what was the best armor and best strategy to take them out! I guess we all play games differently and as a result make it easier or harder on ourselves.

Yes but the item functionality is the same as it is in every damn souls game as far as summoning goes lol.

Well yeah, those enemies are all significantly easier than Margit.

TBH I have a hard time believing you 'clocked' the game at SL15 and yet find the Four Kings the hardest... No way in hell you will convince me they are harder than the 3 I mentioned!

Their attack patterns were easier to navigate than the four kings' AOE blasts :-/

Started this today, as soon as there was more than one enemy I was buggered haha!

I don’t think this was for me unfortunately, but I can see why the fans of the genre are so big on it.

Just beat Renalla Queen of the Full Moon

She was quite easy but annoying my Skeletal men summons worked a treat in her second phase i highly suggest to use them against here

That prick Knight that you fight at the acdemy was a pain in arse but i managed to kill him by going up the lift and he fell down the hole and died rofl cop that

Yeah, I figured I’d give it a go based on all the positive things I’ve heard.

Yeah fair enough

I hate the hard core from soft fans who tell gamers to "git good" instead of returning thier games. if the game is too hard and not thier thing then that's fair enough

The beauty of physical games haha!

Agree.

Also digital games normaly charged an extra $10-$20 more than the retail disc. having not to put a disc in to play and games taking up shelf space is not enough for me to go digital imo

He took me all *****g day hardest boss i ever fought in a video game

Took me over a week, knew I was under powered at the start, but have been at an adequate level since Monday. Only tried a few times a day before moving onto other side quests. Really knuckled down yesterday and tonight.

I've barely leveled up since, bit hard to as every 2nd or 3rd dungeon I clear I die and lose the runes on the return trip

Does anyone know what the end game level target should be? Im around level 80 and unsure if I should stop (though previous Souls games were closer to 100-120)

After every main, optional and field boss I was around 110 at the start of NG+ . But I had also managed to buy every armour set, cookbook, spell and stone key also AND was pretty reckless with my runes too. You get maybe too much lol.

Margit defeated!!

Helped that I summoned the wolves during the second phase, rather than at the start of the battle.
I might try that. I still cant beat him. I tried using magic in the second phase instead of the first. I can get him down to 1/4 health.
Im
Trying to level up more before I try again.

It's more luck than skill imo, depends on his attacks. When I summoned the wolves at the start, sometimes they'd last through to the second phase, sometimes they'd get killed early on. You need a distraction so that Margit focuses on them which helps you be able to attack him from behind (being mindful that any swing he does can still do damage to you).

I've wiped out a few more of the Limgrave dungeons/sub bosses. I'd love to progress more, but don't see how it'll be possible with my current build mixed with my unco playstyle :P. Currently attempting Stormveil Castle, I've activated a few grace points... need to find one that's high up as I'm sick of dying and having to re-start the climb again!!

Yep absolutely. I’ve put time into levelling up with magic and strength. I think that’s why I’m finding it so hard. I should have only levelled up with strength. Doing both has set me back a little.
Great game but so hard.
Yeah finding grace is so important.
I’ve also found out the hard way to never attempt a boss fight with a heap of runes. Because to retrieve them you need to fight the bossagain..

I went to this location Siofra River Well | Elden Ring Wiki (there's a very long lift ride right near the Minor Endtree). Ventured around down there to see what bad dudes were down there and they have long pointy stabbing things that can kill me in 2 hits. Luckily my blood swipe takes them out in 2 shots and gives 120 runes per kill. I've gone back up as I feel I'm way under powered for that section. The area nearby the lift is full of bears, I went down a staircase where the bear couldn't fit through the entry way and just took him out cheapily!!

Oh and I'm hunting for one more Smithing Stone[2] so I can get my sword to +5, going to be a longgggggggggg hunt.

Unsure what that is down below, but I don't want to find out just yet :P

Mimic Tear and me being way overlevelled is making some of these bosses laughable. I went from struggling against Rykard, to walking through Godfrey in about 10 seconds.

Edit: Make that another 15 seconds for Morgott.

****ing finally!!! a mod for the auto-centre camera bollocks available on nexus mods. it's not perfect but makes such a difference if you're mousing around. hasn't ruined my first 75ish hours but it's been annoying.
