God like burn.
You get entertained by poor arguments and the use of primary school level bullying tactics? Most adults laughed at how childish his tweets are. If you dont see it then that suggests a lot about your mental maturity.Entertaining yours truly!
It’s explicitly mandatory service in the interests of French national good. Macron says it right there! Its one month mandatory charity and volunteer work. This has what to do with nationalism?
And charity and volunteer work is in the national good. Again, what has this got to do with nationalism and the demonisation of foreigners as being second class to domestic residents? It’s explicitly mandatory service in the interests of French national good. Macron says it right there!
You have no idea what nationalism is.And charity and volunteer work is in the national good. Again, what has this got to do with nationalism and the demonisation of foreigners as being second class to domestic residents?
Doing charity and volunteer work is not nationalistic. It doesnt demonize citizens from other countries or make them worse off. Even training with the military is not automatically nationalistic if its about defense when a credible threat has presented itself such as Russia is currently. Cracking down on immigrants, purging your country of undesirables, putting up barriers to trade, capital and labour mobility and demonising products simply because they are imports is blatant nationalism. Is Macron doing any of this? If so you may have a case.
Apparently you think its about charity and volunter work. In that case all countrys are nationalists. In the end you can broaden the term nationalism to mean whatever you want it to. Its just semantics. You have no idea what nationalism is.
Macron has always run centrist campaigns though, I don't think he would reject the neoliberalism tag if he was among the elites.Left wing anti-nationalists are the handmaidens of neoliberalism.
You socialists need to understand that being procapitalist and neoliberalism is not the same thing.Macron has always run centrist campaigns though, I don't think he would reject the neoliberalism tag if he was among the elites.
Seeds, you are wrong. You are always wrong.Apparently you think its about charity and volunter work. In that case all countrys are nationalists. In the end you can broaden the term nationalism to mean whatever you want it to. Its just semantics.
However, when someone criticizes nationalists the only definition of nationalism that matters is the one used by the person making the criticism as its their definition that they are denouncing. Not yours.
Nationalism played very little part in the First World War. They were empires pitted against one another, a struggle between elites and royal families. How exactly is lack of popularity a defence against the claim that nationalism was a driver behind the world wars? Nationalism is only a thing because its popular with the irrational and uneducated. Most nationalists are popular.
Tbh it did, Serbian nationalism against the Austro-Hungarian Empire kicked it off. But that means we should bring back imperialism imoNationalism played very little part in the First World War. They were empires pitted against one another, a struggle between elites and royal families.
Look at a map of Europe now compared to 1914. Many more different independent nations now with their own national identity.
I disagree. What happened in Sarajevo was just an event used by the elite to force a war. With all the different alliances it was inevitable. Countries with the strongest nationalism now, aka Poland, Czech Republic, etc were not even allowed their own sovereignty then and were divided up amongst the different empires.Tbh it did, Serbian nationalism against the Austro-Hungarian Empire kicked it off. But that means we should bring back imperialism imo
Gees you respond like a toddler. Use argument. Be better then a 3 year old.Seeds, you are wrong. You are always wrong.
That cultural influence smokingjacket mentioned has consequences for the French, at any rate.Left wing anti-nationalists are the handmaidens of neoliberalism.
I love the fact the UK will be able to make 100% of its own laws, control its borders and negotiate its own trade deals.
There is NO negative to BREXIT.
Another globalist installed by the elite.
Eh? Whatever you think of Macron's milquetoast liberal politics, his centrist party won a crushing democratic victory over the traditional elite parties.
It's a multiparty system, 24% is a very strong first round result and even more so for a first time candidate. En Marche went from 0 to 304 seats or 53% of the house. He reduced the Socialist Party to just 30 seats and and the Republicans to 112, under 20%. That's a paddling in any type of democracy. Not quite how I'd characterise it, given the traditional elite parties came third and a very distant fifth, and he had 24%.
Why is globalism a bad thing?Another globalist installed by the elite.
You can be a pain in the arse and still be a globalist, presumably. Can the French be globalists? As a rule they think every other culture is beneath them.
