County season opening this weekend- must confess, I'm not up to speed on county movements and signings, but am following Surrey with the BBC London netcasts.

Any thoughts on the action in the old country? Australia go there in a couple of months for some one day matches and two tests with Pakistan.

Carn Surrey.

Although off to another shit start, standard Ramprakash innings holding us together

Is there any way to watch County Cricket online or on tv?

Rogers starts off with a 200. Jaques with two 40 odds. The guy England just debuted, Finn, got a somewhat useful 9/37, Jaques being the one guy not to get dismissed by Finn.

Australians In County
Chris Rogers (Derbyshire, all formats, Captain too)
Mark Cosgrove (Glamorgan, all formats)
Shaun Tait (Glamorgan, only T20)
Andrew McDonald (Leicestershire, all formats)
Brad Hodge (Leicestershire, T20 only)
Adam Gilchrist (Middlesex, only T20)
David Warner (Middlesex, only T20)
David Hussey (Nottinghamshire, all formats)
Dirk Nannes (Nottinghamshire, T20 only)
Cameron White (Somerset, T20 only)
Andrew Symonds (Surrey, T20 only)
Phil Jaques (Worcestershire, all formats)
Steve Smith (Worcestershire, T20 only)
Ryan Harris (Yorkshire, all formats)

A few teams have T20 spots open so they could be filled. Also I've probably missed some kolpak players like Di Venuto in that list

Wish Smith was playing a full season, some handy bowling/batting experience.

Doubt it, as there is very little county cricket shown on television in England- the one day and twenty 20 matches, maybe....

You can get radio coverage through the BBC website- a number of the counties briadcast all their matches.

And Ramprakash notches up his 109th ton- he just keeps going and going and going

Thanks for that anyway mate.

I'm interested in how Tim Linley goes for Surrey. He plays against us in our local comp over here.

Heard his name a few times in the opening match- can't remember stats, but will try to keep you updated- Surrey matches are available through BBC radio London- they have a four day match in Hove starting Friday morning.

All continues to go poorly for dumped Mark Cosgrove

- 2nd ball duck in the first innings
- retired hurt (17*) in the second (hit in the head)

Rogers managed 3 runs in two innings, bringing his average down to a measly 115 or so for the season so far. It looks like Leics are going to win that one barring a strong rear guard from Derbys.

Di Venuto hit 75* to help Durham recover after they were reduced to 2/4 after following on against Essex.

Yorkshire should beat Somerset after skipper Andrew Gale backed up his strong bowling attack by hitting his first ton as captain.

Surrey will avoid defeat by an innings against Sussex... just.

Australians

Cosgrove - 4
Jaques - 0
Allenby - 57
Rogers - 28
Di Venuto - 71
Robson - 52

Thorp - 0/54
Wright - 2/41
Claydon - 3/84

Aw, look mate we're English.

Walters - 0
Horton - 123

Thanks for the link. Great stuff :thumbsu:
10 Yorkshiremen and 1 overseas pro from RSA.

That's a proper Yorkshire team is that.

We dint av players called Ajmal Shahzad or Adil Rashid back when I were a lad though !!!!! Boycott, Hampshire, Bairstow, Suttcliffe, Hutton. They were t names back then !:D

Playing well, Yorkshire so far this year. Looking forward to Adil Rashid developing into a very good test player for England.

Ramprakash continues toting up tons- had a double ton in the first innings v Middlesex, then added another hundred in the second innings.

112 now for his career, I think. Wonder how long he'll go on.

They had Kent vs Durham on t'telly and the latter had a couple of interesing young players on show. Scott Borthwick, a young leg spinner with a really strong, uncomplicated action and Ben Stokes, a left handed batsmen who played some really classy shots to reach 161* and 42*. Very impressive.

You can add Adam Lyth to the list of young players who are doing well, he's got 853 runs from 8 matches for Yorkshire, although I haven't seen him bat this season.

The other name to really look out for is Jos Buttler of Zumerzet.
