Really? Been common for years amongst most analysts.I’ve never heard the term ‘low block’ before. Are you essentially saying the opposition are parking the bus?

Arsenal’s title. No one else will come close.
A new RB and midfielder next summer and the question for our supporters will be, “How will you be celebrating our treble next season?”.

I'll be stoked if we can finish top 6 this season, the fixture opens up for us now to keep getting points, let's see what we can do or if we'll just turn to complete shit again.
I can see that happening lol. Top 6-8 would be a great season from where we were last season.
Yeah, i enjoy watching Coventry. More enjoyable than the stuff we dish up, once a team sits back(which us 90% of the time) we are just so boring. Doesn't help our one decent forward is missing.Watch us or Cov then. Very dynamic teams.
Yes. It's not an uncommon term.I’ve never heard the term ‘low block’ before. Are you essentially saying the opposition are parking the bus?
Yes, they did.Teams played a low block against City and Liverpool in the seasons they scored a million open play goals too.
I think it's good for the league to show there are different ways of doing it. Arsenal's right now is very clean sheet and set piece based. It doesn't lend itself to stacks and stacks of goals being scored.
So far Arsenal have scored 5 goals from open play and have only conceded 3. It won't stay that extreme, but it's been trending that way for a while.
Where did I say differently? I have offered zero criticism.Yes. It's not an uncommon term.
Yes, they did.
Whatever we are doing is effective and teams can't stop it.
Yes, I know. I've not said otherwise.Where did I say differently? I have offered zero criticism.
Excellent. Now let's shake hands and remember to catch up for that pint sometime.Yes, I know. I've not said otherwise.

The Prem is really dull atm, too much focus on deadline ball stuff which just sucks life out of the game. Sad that teams are going to follow Arsenals lead.
There you go, can't say I'd ever heard of it.
A crappy round tbh (hurts that the relegation battle has 3 clear drop zone teams) -SA TIMES:

We play teams that sit deep or mid-block in the EPL to prevent blow outs because European football/relegation is a reward/threat for teams 3rd through to 15th on the table, how are you expected to play exciting counter attacking football when teams park the bus or mid-block and barely create anything. We are capable of playing attacking football, it won us nothing though.

Other than it being first identified with Mourinho in 2010.The tactic isn't new but the term ‘low block’ wasn't used much until the last two or three years. Commentators talked about teams 'defending deep' or 'sitting back'. The change could be due to the rise in popularity of the Youtube tactical analysts and their fancy graphical boards.
I remember it being used back around 2013/2014 and a quick google search shows articles like this from 2012;The tactic isn't new but the term ‘low block’ wasn't used much until the last two or three years. I havent watch Bournemouth that closely this season but what do people think of this kid?
Is he another French surprise packet?
Unbeaten at home and have only conceded 2 goals, they haven't beaten anyone of note there but they are in great form and will be confident after the Chelsea win.Our season is starting to go backwards already, 1-1-3 in our last 5. Need to beat Sunderland to get some spark back.
Good point that is factually correct!Unbeaten at home and have only conceded 2 goals, they haven't beaten anyone of note there but they are in great form and will be confident after the Chelsea win.
