No... not for atleast 30-50 years alteast anyway. By then it will hopefully be upgraded to seat 80,000 people. Hopefully ALL the major stadiums in OZ will be around this size.

I do think it should be played at homebush though if Sydney were to make the GF and finished higher then the team they are playing against.

An for the record PiePremiers I am definately a Port Adelaide supporter... at all levels, so your Pies are not in danger of being spoilt. ;)

I'd wager 'IT' is a gutless Carlton supporter....

I'd probably wager it's name is also 'Deej'...?

Ps. Apologies to non-gutless Carlton fans - see you this weekend!

I saw last weeks game against Nth and that was fairly intense. They handled that ok. I also heard plenty of talk about how Essendon wouldn't handle the pressure of finals last year too. Didn't do so badly then.

2nd... it is pretty easy not to loose more then 4 road games when they are lucky to play on the road more then 4 times a year.

Given most Victorian teams avergae 4 road trips a year, how many of them have lost less than four in three years? How many non-victorian teams have won two-thirds of their interstate trips?

Again most reports said that the standard of the game was pretty high... and from my viewpoint it was too.

From yours I'm sure it was. From mine I saw numerous skill errors from players who were under no pressure. Something I don't expect to be repeated in the finals. At least we got closer to you on your patch than you managed when you played on ours. Where you'll play finals btw.

The fact it was so close was because the umpires handed them at least 3 goals, and Port should have kicked straighter.

Aawww, poor baby. It's all a big conspiracy. You & Macca make a good pair.

Port missed 3-4 gettable goals with no pressure on them from any Essendon players.

And Essendon didn't? Moorcroft in the first qtr from 30 out, Jacobs in the last from 40 odd.

Lastly the GF will ONEDAY be played somewhere else apart from the 'G.

No, it wont, no matter how much you carp about it or how many cheap shots you taking about moving forward and standing still. I believe the MCG will always host the GF because it is and will remain the best stadium for watching football in the country bar none.

You love walking into to trouble don't you!!! You can't compare playing 5 away games in 7 weeks to playing 4 away games oin 22 weeks, with nice big breaks in between.

It is alot easier to gear up for an away game when you have 6 games B4 then in the comfort of you own home. Wonder how well they would cope if they had to play those away games in the space of 7 weeks like Port have done in the last 7weeks. Visiting every major capital in that time and mostly playing Top 8 teams.
As opposed to Essendon playing 18 games in Melbourne, with their away games nicely spread out.

So PLEASE come up with something better to win the debate.

Yes it is currently the best stadium for watching Footy but you're a bigger fool if you believe things will never change. Demands could change, AFL may deminish into almost nothing (we all hope not), earthquake could level the building, during new construction at the 'G the GF maybe shifted has it was B4... and so on... and so on.

You are really showing us your narrow mindedness now... as straight as a ruler some would say... maybe as straight as a supreme ruler even.

that has what to do with the current essendon side

fact - essendon is where port wants to be
fact - Port has beaten 4 teams in the 8, Essendon has beaten 5
fact - Essendon has not lost to a top 8 side at home, home being where all our finals will be played, although we did lose to carlton at the mcg, Port has lost to Collingwood at home and only managed to beat Hawthorn away from home
fact - finishing 3rd or 4th means an away final in the first week, seeing as though port has failed to beat the top two sides away from home things dont look as good as you believe they are

Would rather have down syndrome than barrack for essendon.

For my final post of the evening, I choose to lambast Turlough for the above post.

His remark about Down's Syndrome is a disgrace and only confirms his position as the most reviled participant on the bigfooty boards.

He demonstrates his ignorance with this remark in the same way as he has demonstrated his disloyalty by transfering his dubious affections from Geelong ("4eva") to Carlton to [insert current fad].

If you're ever over in Perth, let me know. I would be delighted to meet with you in person, buy you a drink at Subiaco Oval and seek to convert you to becoming a member of the human race.

This argument reminds of ones with Camry supporters in '97, '98....with all the finals aren't at football park mate crap.

Surprisingly the camrise are better away from home than at home this year, where as Port and Brisbane both have 4-4 records away from their home state.

The GF may never leave the MCG, but non-vic teams that have made it there against a vic side have quite a good record (4-2) so I don't see why the perception that it is impossible for a travelling team to beat a good vic side on GF day is still there.

Essendon supporters of all people should know that something can go drastically wrong in the leadup to the GF. What if you lose your first game to Hawthorn or Carlton and end up playing a PF in Brisbane? Where will the 'finals are in Melbourne mate' crap be then?

Anyway, nice trolling Scott, you've done well :)

NOTHING at all... I was answering a question, which I did quote. Might I suggest reading posts fully B4 hastily responding.

Well some facts are right, some you contradict yourself in and others are loose facts.

breifly ...
FACT 1 - Port is happy in Adelaide.
FACT 2 - This changes week to week... after next week if teams in 9,10 and 11 replaced teams in 6,7 and 8 (which is possible) then Port would have beaten ALL teams in the Top 8 whilst Essendon have lost to 2. BUT currently you're correct.
FACT 3 - You contradict yourself.
FACT 4 - Means nothing ... Port has a good run home into the finals and could finish 2nd or even 1st. Essendon has a harder run home so on the contary things are looking quiet good for Port.

Keep studying and please read the entire post b4 replying.

All the best

I couldn't believe it when I saw the umpires actually pay a free kick against Jimmy but then I realised it went to Wangers. Phew
