You’d have to say right now Essendon is in front as Carlton’s current build is/was primed for contention and has seemed to have fallen short.

So the blues will likely look to begin a rebuild/retool this offseason while Essendon is a few years into that process.

But honestly could be neither for both sides
The off season retuning for Carlton could go two ways. We get it right and bounce back again, or make an absolute mess of it and end up having to launch yet another full scale rebuild!

Meh, I’ll judge them next season when they aren’t playing their seconds side.

Not saying I have high hopes for a top 6 finish, but I’ll wait.

we wouldn't finish top 6 with our entire list injury free..........

Despite the amount of ball raining into two hot key forwards last night, I actually thought Blakiston showed a bit. Still developing but should come good with another pre-season or two.
I quite like what I see in him too, but he is almost 27. You’d think he’s only ever going to be a stop gap.

I had no idea he was that age. I thought he was a kid

Yeah the injuries paper over the cracks in some ways I think, it might be cliche to say but it's like the place is cursed with so many players just fully being within a losing culture for their whole careers. I truly don't think Brad is the answer as I think he's a bit like Terry Wallace Mk 2 and that he's way more about his own brand above doing what it takes to succeed. Whether this is true or not will be proven in time but I think Bombers need a deep deep cut and then bring in some leadership like when Hodge went to Brisbane. A few of these playing coach types and then make their draft picks count. I wouldn't go for Reid and I would exclusively go to the draft for the next couple of the years and only trade in guys on the right age bracket that come cheaply and fill a role. I don't necessarily think Brad can survive the outside noise if they more fully embrace the rebuild. Tigers got lucky last year to go all in on the rebuild with the players that wanted out and the perception last year was a strong draft class. We won't know for a few years but atleast you can see the makings of a decent list starting to come together.

We were shit before the injuries but with a few more last night I don't even know who to bring in.

Our backline for the next few weeks will be

McGrath Blakiston Johnson
Roberts Laverde Clarke

Then our midfield is

Goldy Merrett Durham and Shiel with no resting midfielder because they are all broken... We had to run McGrath, Gresham and Perkins through there last night.

We are going to get absolutely belted for the last four games.

Utterly broken.
On all the pre draft ratings and majority of phantom drafts leading up kako got bid on were he was rated pretty much

everyone say thank you to essendon and st kilda for once again saving an otherwise low skill and boring round of football

37 points?
probably like 20 odd, i doubt they'll be playing at 100% and we may very well not be able to field a full team
