It might be overstated but there claiming it will be one of the worst drafts in a decade definitely not a draft to be loading up in. Considering they didn’t even need to trade the pick before the kako bid that could have got another quality player in a strong draft last season another bad move

Like I understand that's a hard concept for fox footy experts like Mick Aylett to understand but when we trade with your club a few times that night I would expect it's supporters to actually be able to add 1 + 1 together.

We were shit before the injuries but with a few more last night I don't even know who to bring in.

Our backline for the next few weeks will be

McGrath Blakiston Johnson
Roberts Laverde Clarke

Then our midfield is

Goldy Merrett Durham and Shiel with no resting midfielder because they are all broken... We had to run McGrath, Gresham and Perkins through there last night.

We are going to get absolutely belted for the last four games.

Don’t think Kako was ever going top 10, imo, but who knows for sure. Was a very strong draft on face value

I think if we can nail this draft we could be okay moving forward.

Most good teams are built on 3-4 solid drafts in a row.

Our last two drafts have given us at least 7 guys who look like they are AFL standard players with positive attributes.

Caddy, Kako, Roberts, Clarke, Johnson, May and Vigo.

If we can add another 3-4 from this draft that is a good core to build around alongside the other 25 and under group which includes Durham, Martin, Caldwell and Duursma.

But it will still be a few more years down the bottom.

You’d have to say right now Essendon is in front as Carlton’s current build is/was primed for contention and has seemed to have fallen short.

So the blues will likely look to begin a rebuild/retool this offseason while Essendon is a few years into that process.

But honestly could be neither for both sides
