theyre a weird side lately. seem to have the goods on the top team and then get destroyed by a bottom 8 team. its weird. maybe they put too much emphasis on beating a top side.

they just played their grandfinal, its all over for 2011 now.
Seems their their doing what the Doggies did in 2000, who ended both our 13 game winning streak of 13 and Essendon's of 20.
We also ended the Eagles run of 12 in 1991.
Its funny how otherwise mediocre sides are often the ones to end the runs.

I think you'll find that essendon just played how they should be, every week. Yea you beat us but the amount we missed was terrible. Could have been a different story. Good game though
We also do losing streaks pretty well.

* Both games were at Etihad
* Both games had Essendon as the team ending another teams undefeated streak.
* Both games Essendon led all day, only for the other team to come back and nearly snatch it
* In both games, the undefetaed team put out a "weak" side the week before (St.Kilda dropped all their good players in round 19 versus Hawthorn and brough them back versu Essendon.) Geelong had lots of young players last week versus Adelaide, and then brought back their senior players versus Essendon.
Spooky eh?

Both Saints and Cats kicked the first 3 goals in each game as well, just another stat to add to the list
That`s it. Frustrating.
All things being equal Geelong should beat us. However THIS IS HOW WE SHOULD PLAY EVERY WEEK, Despite missing many injured players we need to go with this intensity every week.
This, and the St.Kilda games of late 2009 and the first of 2010 are all times where I've turned around and told people Essendon would win, and that I'd put money on it. Then considered going to put money on it, been lazy, and not bothered. And they were paying over $11 for the '09 Saints game!
Not Essendon-specific (though they're the ones I will continue to dwell on), but as my friends have pointed out, I have a keen sense for when an underdog is going t take a game, and I SHOULD bet on it. But alas.
Still, a fantastic game of footy to watch, Essendon were the same during the Knights era. When they're on, they can be ON, they just struggle to back it up.
Would have been shattered if we lost, but still would've enjoyed it for the great game it was.
