We were going to use 64 on him.

Now we have up to two extra picks i.e. 64 and 81 so Howlett woudl be pick 98 (round six).

Pretty sure he trained with him a few years ago when he was playing. He also has made comment publicly about his attitude. It was never going to change and it would be naive to think it. It comes down to making a statement which I am all for - just wish we had have traded Houli when we had the chance.

It is a hard one. I do question though why we didn't make him commit by trade week if he is an uncontracted player. Still he may have changed his mind and Essendon can do nothing to stop that.

- the fact he could again next year
- that we had WC and Brisbane to contend with
- that it always felt like just a method to push up his asking price at collingwood i.e. we were just pawns happy to play along as it shafts the Pies.

I'm still failing to see why there is *any* negativity.

We cut a bloke who didn't want to commit to the club, and we cut another bloke who didn't want to put in the effort.

Happy to get Neagle back as a rookie but aren't phased either way if he's not willing to put in the efforts required of him.

It's a token pick- and to hear anyone lament the fact that- but... we could have gotten pick SIXTY! is just embarrassing!

Is there really any point in having pick 50+ as opposed to 60+. Most clubs pass at that stage so if we target someone then we are likely to get them anyway.

IIRC we were pretty pissed we missed Dean Putt & had to take Hooker instead.

If it comes out tomorrow the Watson is sleeping with Stantons missus- so we cut him- Is that poor list management because we could have picked up a pick that we didn't need- just in case? Or is it a case of individual players dropping the ball and the club taking the appropriate action.

Atkinson told the club via telephone that he wasnt committed. Anyone who complains about his delisting, need to direct thier thoughts to JA.

He was told that he had two weeks to train to get a contract. He then didnt turn up to training and rang the club to say that he didnt want to continue.

End of story.

Obviousily not wanting the best for our team. Pick 60 over 100. Yeah they both are pretty shit but 60 is still a long way ahead of 100 and gives the club the best chance to get the best player available. There will still be players with the potential to become good players at pick 45 in this draft. Couldve meant Myles Sewell.

Take what you can you never know what might happen in a few weeks time (A weeks a long time in footy ). Also if it meant at worse getting rid of Atkinson even though he wanted to continue for pick 45 to be used than so be it. pick 45 will be better than Atkinson.
