It seems inevitable that Essendon will move on from Brad Scott soon, so the question is who will they get to replace him? Do they opt for experience or do they go with a rookie?

Experienced coaches available are Longmire, Simpson, Buckley and Hinkley.
Would any of these guys be a good fit for Essendon? If so, who would be the best fit?

no recycled coach, rule me out of John Longmire, Adam Simpson, Ken Hinkley

Not many recycled senior coaches ever have success at a second club. Dont want a good Essendon person either so rule me out of Caracella, Giansiracusa (who spent some time with us), Dean Solomon long term.

What difference would it make.

Like McQualter and King whoever gets the job will have low expectations for a club going through a rebuild.

Just have to accept they will be eating a shit sandwich with results for a bit while the list gets churned over.

Why doesn't Brad Scott have low expectations.

IMO too much hubris down at Essendon airport, if they don't start playing finals as soon as the next guy comes in the fans and players will turn on them and then what.

Should keep Scott for at least 2 more seasons, so many young players, no chance of going up the ladder anytime soon.

As long as the club think his development behind the scenes is up to scratch.

They need a coach to hold the fort.

We have no fort.

All the perimeter walls have been burnt to the ground.

2013 round 17 essendon were 2nd on the ladder only a game behind Hawthorn. They were solid in that era
No, they were drug fueled in that era.

Bomber Thompson did the coaching, Hird was a puppet.

If they bring back Hird will the civil war at the club cease?

There's a big chance they will shoot up the ladder in 2028.

Hird will need 2027 to get his new 'supplements' program organised, but after that they will start to dominate. He would have learned from some of the experiments they ran the first time.

It will be Solomon guys and it’s been pretty obvious from the moment Welsh decided to make him an assistant.

Scott stands down with his payout. Solomon becomes caretaker coach, Essendon supporters wet themselves at the idea of a “Essendon person” being coach and who does Solomon ask to come join his panel…. You know who.

we might as well pack it up if Solomon takes over

All their players did mysteriously get very solid indeed.

If only there was something going on in 2012-2013 that could explain how they suddenly got so solid.

We don’t know what it was … but we know that it wasn’t illegal … 😂

Need a coach that turn around a culture.

Adam Simpson took a bottom team to finals in 1 season. Eagles just collapsed because of costly injuries and poor list management.

Longmire left after failing to win a gf. Still probably got the chops to take a team off the bottom to the top.
