ESSENDON
B: Nick Malceski, Dustin Fletcher, Michael Rischitelli
HB: Chris Knights, Jackson Trengove, James Kelly
C: Jobe Watson, Brock McLean, Kane Johnson
HF: Ryan O’Keefe, Adam Goodes, Matthew Bate
F: Alwyn Davey, Matthew Lloyd, Matt Rosa
Ruck: Ivan Maric, Sam Mitchell, Jude Bolton
Inter: Adam Bentick, Jason Laycock, Jay Neagle, Sam Lonergan
The Essendon area is one of the stronger football patches in metropolitan Melbourne and that shows with this line-up. The Bombers would also have access to some of the best players in central-west Victoria, an area that does not offer a great number of players but definitely some talent in Horsham-raised Adam Goodes.
Essendon also had recruiting pockets in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, which brings them players such as Kane Johnson, Sam Mitchell and Nick Malceski.
Jobe Watson, Dustin Fletcher and Jay Neagle are all still Bombers thanks to the father-son rule.
The final side is shallow in defensive options but there is no shortage of good on-ballers and exciting forwards
i'm wondering why alwyn davey and laycock would have been in essendons zone given they are from interstate?
