To be honest I think the major danger to this game is complacency. Winning against Port last night was HUGE so the sooner players forget about last night and get on with th ejob at hand the better. I am fearfull of a let down. We only need to be off for 2% and we will get done.
To be honest I don't think there is much Ayres can do in this situation. This is purely up to player. As we all know youngsters can be like yo-yos. I think next week against Essendon will be a HUGE test of character when it comes to the likes of Jericho, Hentschel, Bock etc. If they come up and play as well against Essendon as they did against Port we know that we have a bunch of mentally tough youngsters on our list.Originally posted by macca23
True Stiffy, but I don't think Ayres will let that happen. I hope not anyway.
Hopefully the boys will use that as a building block for the future, because you wouldn't lose too many games if you played like that every week.

They were all there in round 15 last year too.Originally posted by eastaugh36
A factor in our recent p*** poor performances at footy park might be the fact that I have rarely seen our 3 guns - Fletcher,Hird and Lloyd all play in the same team at footy park. They do this week.

Wasnt the Essendon game in Rnd 15 the one where Welshy was on fire?
I think that might be the only thing saving him from 'eviction' out of West Lakes![]()
He was ordinary on Saturday night![]()
As Radar said his last game against Essendon migt be the only thing that saves him. He wasn't playing good footy before the injury and he was very ordinary in the showdown. With Scott Stevens likely to be fot for this game it will be interesting to see if Welshy survives this week.Originally posted by macca23
He was very ordinary and has had a really slow start to the year.
If we have a few players back this week, will he survive??
Probably, but he'd be getting onto thin ice, wouldn't he??
