Why are Nickelback so hated? They have millions of adoring fans and hundreds of positive reviewers and critics. Why exactly? Especially considering there are many similar bands as them, either before or after their forming, that are liked very much.

They're seen as Mum & Dad rock. Tame. I couldn't care less. If their songs come on the radio I listen. Wouldn't buy their album though.

I don't understand?
It is the Explain Things thread after all.

Well, mostly, it's because I created it. So that guarantees a lot of "likes", and a lot of comments from me in the thread, and any thread I visit frequently always ends up more interesting and controversial, full of an assortment of topics, memes, insults, debates, etc. Threads that I no longer visit soon peter out. But it's also "better" because it's not specifically a "something i dont understand" thread. As the people who might post something to be explained, could well indeed understand why something is as it is -- but perhaps they're requiring more feedback from others, see other explanations/reasons for things than what they may understand.

For instance....I don't like Nickelback whatsoever. Mind you, I've only listened to a handful of songs. I know in myself why I don't like them. But I'd like to hear what reasons other people may not like them. See if they concur, have a better reason for not liking them, etc.

Also, one doesn't need to even ask others to explain something. They could just post something in here straight out, explaining something that they feel needs explaining.

Here's one straight off the bat....

The reason why humans have a fixation for hoarding gold is because a long long time ago, when "gods" walked this earth, beings from another planet, who medically engineered the human species from a mix of their own DNA and those of the earth beasts (apes/chimps) who most closely resembled the gods' DNA....when these gods walked the earth, they created "man" in order to have slave workers who could mine the earth of its precious minerals, etc. They came and went, came and went, collecting stores of these precious minerals for their own uses on their own advanced planet. Well, gold was one of the most important ones for them. I should also mention that Kings and Lords who ruled over man were initially those earth humanoids who were bred directly with the gods. And their bloodlines were still very pure, linked directly to these gods, as the centuries passed down -- why royalty always inbred, to preserve the bloodline. Anyway...so when the gods completely left, unbeknownst to man that they'd never return, these privileged few and royalty, who preserved the bloodlines, started hoarding gold. So that one day when these gods returned they would continue to be in their favor.

Gold in itself has no value whatsoever. It can't be really used for anything practical. Yet, it is THE most precious mineral to man, because they don't know why, it's just a traditional thing, passed down from eon to eon thru history.

But now YOU all know why.

keywords dunderhead.....FIXATION FOR HOARDING GOLD.
Hoarding.
I'm talking about enormous great stores of gold. Held in uttermost security by those still indirectly aligned to the gods bloodlines. Look at Hitler's fascination with stealing all the gold too. Hitler was a student of the occult and the deep mysteries of the planet earth. He understood what I'm telling you now.

Not true whatsoever. Misconception. I am here to enlighten you.

That's your problem bro....you just think you know everything. But when someone who does know something that you dont, or who knows far more than you, tells you the truth about something, you cant be told, you wont listen.

Hitler needed gold to build and buy weapons. When paulus wouldn't break out of Stalingrad, Hitlers people went to Speer (science minister) and said what will take to build an atom bomb. The answer was eighty five percent of your resources for one year.

Speer got shit cause that eighty five percent wasn't even half of what was required to hold back the allies.

You fit into the first category, my friend ;)
There is a third category btw.

:D
Did I remind you already? I am not a humanoid of your planetary configuration. For instance, I do not have a reptilian brain-stem. Anyway, I am stranded on your planet, observing, collecting data, etc, until I can get back to my realm. I've been stranded here alone for over 60 years now.

Good story GG....I like it.

Gold is also likened to the human soul, to what is most valuable, authentic & precious in ourselves....The more ensouled a person, then the more of a golden-glow they will radiate.

You'll find it the dominant color in many religions also....To find this treasure, one must dig down into oneself, by stripping off layer upon layer of earthly defenses, accumulated against a ravenous dog eat dog culture....I've been a Miner for a heart of gold.....Can you dig it GG?;)
