15.WB: Carlisle is their man apparently.
Carlisle is an interesting one. He is rated quite highly by people i've spoken too, so would not be completely surprised if he was in the 1st round.
Nice work again FAITH

I can understand the attraction because he can play at both ends. Eade loves versatility in big men and we are light on for key defenders.
However, I am not sold on Carlisle. The last thing we need is another athletic big man who plays more like a flanker. I'd rather we secure a definite KPP (Talia, Black) or a midfielder with pace (Jetta, Bartlett).
The tweener types haven't treated us well over the journey and I have a few concerns about Carlisle, despite his talents.

Carlisle is 197cm with long arms and a good vertical leap and has predominantly played CHF/CHB for Calder.
If anything Talia and Black play more like floating tall utilities![]()
I believe recent events have helped clarify Port's drafting intentions for the upcoming drafts.
First they upgraded 201cm 20yo forward/ruckman Daniel Stewart from the rookie list to the main list
Second they have now added 198cm 22yo Daniel Bass as an unregistered player to the rookie list, he's a medium-term ruck project who hails from Melbourne, so he has dabbled with Aussie Rules in his younger days.
Port now has Lobbe, Redden, Stewart, Trengove & Bass all 22 & under to help out Brogan
Due to the above I reckon there is no chance in hell that Port will take a ruckman at any of our National Draft picks, 8, 9 & 16. I believe we'll take best available midfielder & key position forward at picks 8 & 9, plus use pick 16 for best available midfielder.
This leaves Port with a Pre-Season Draft pick, around about pick 7 or earlier, to use on a mature, big bodied ruckman from any of the state or country leagues, like the Crows did when they took Ben Hudson. Doing this means Brogan has support from day 1, giving Port time to blood our junior rucks, without the weight of the whole team on their shoulders.
I also reckon Port will take a raw giant kid as a rookie, see if he could make it, or not.
That's one of the reasons why I'm for Carlton taking Andrew Moore ahead of Black and TaliaIf I wanted to be sure of getting a definite KPP, I would much rather Carlisle than Black....
Some news from this years draft. (Updated everytime i hear some news)
Top 8 settled at this stage:
1Melb:Trengrove; (The best player)
2Melb:Scully; (clearly 2nd best player)
3Rich:Martin; (Rich are favoured to get Martin, but Morabitto is 3rd best player)
4Freo:Morabitto: (Queries on his work rate. 3rd best player, but Rich maybe scared off and go for safe option, freo will snap him up. The next Headland. Would go 1 if his work rate was better.)
5NM:Cunnington (from what im told clearly the best 5 players. NM want him).
6.Syd:Rohan (gun attributes but doesnt get involved enough. Whispers he may slip further down, but shouldnt. Unlikely to go top 5) ;
7.WC:Jetta; (They want him more than Lucas. Certainly a top 12 pic)
8.PA: Butcher (too big a talent not too get here and PA need someone like this);
The next 7 will be between these players. Its hard to know which way port will go.
9. PA: Melksham(Have been linked heavily to him recently, complements their midf well);
10.Ess: Koby Stevens (very good prospect, suits Essendon's style of play);
11.Melb: Daniel Talia (Looks like a very good forward and defensive prospect);
12.Carl: Black (Shot up recently, Mixture of Danger/Otten/Burton. Carlton want Talia but i think Melb will take him);
13.Adel: JMP (inside info. They want him or Talia bad......Id rather have Sheppard or Bartlett);
14.Syd: Lucas (They have been heavily linked to him recently);
15.WB: Carlisle is their man apparently.
* Moore (has been linked to Ess(10) and Adel(13), is a 1st rounder);
* Sheppard is also a real possibility between 9(Port) and 14(Sydney);
Many of you will say what has Happend to Tapscott. Every year there is aa SA boy who is rated highly by outsiders but not by recruiters and slips.
Ive heard lately Tapscott will go early second. 18-22.
If i hear anythin else i'll let you know.
Faith, do you agree with the stuff above that I wrote?
Cheers for the info
Faith, who do you think Essendon will take at #10?
No he's not. If your info is correct on the picks before the Dogs, they will be picking Sheppard.
Port cant overlook Butcher. Too big a talent. Similar to Vickery.
They should take him with 8 or 9.
So therefore probably disagree with you.
Hang on a sec, I said

I was saying we wont take a ruckman, but will take as I highlighted above
So I'd be real keen on Butcher and whichever midfielder we reckon is best available
Hope he goes to us at 20. Been a bit of a fan, I liken him a bit to Suban.Many of you will say what has Happend to Tapscott. Every year there is aa SA boy who is rated highly by outsiders but not by recruiters and slips.

Then don't take it seriously, don't read it....or don't post.Inside source. Yeah, okay....
You may aswell not even include that because if you get it wrong like last year you just get bagged.
Might want to check the front page also, Morabito is spelt wrong.

All viable options.
So you'll go out of your way to be negative when Faith is providing what could be inside info, we don't know.Yeah.....nah.
