Fantastic Drafting

That is one aggressive forward line to put pressure on the forced behind rule stranded defenders.

We also have Stevens to come off the bench to make life hell.

That draft has fixed up our problems.

Next we have to get Hams in and Hooligan in to screw with their heads
The supreme optimist! Better than all these doomsayers tho'.

Very happy!

As others have said, each pick was best available and filled a need.

I still think we are one skillful mid short.
Hopefully can be sorted in PSD.

Wouldn't mind some pace in rookie draft.

Pretty pleased with that draft we seemed to fill some big holes.

Potential A grade midfielder with good skills - Gaff
Tall forward with good defensive pressure - Darling
Back up ruckman who can also play forward - Lycett

Im hoping that Kieran Harper doesnt burn us... but even so you cant fault the recruiters for taking Darling.

Our midfield is starting to get some depth!

Wow. Definitely a great draft for WCE. Well done. Credit to the recruiters for picking Lycett, i get the feeling they really wanted Ugle but surrendered to the (much) better player.

Darling and Gaff were born on the same day.
Mind= blown
Fun fact: apart from the abundance of players whose name start with an S (10 in total), we also now have 8 players who were born in June.

So stoked with the results... Getting Darling has made my f***** day!

You would hope Gaff and Darling will come into the side in Round 1, with Lycett spending some time developing in the WAFL (unless Cox goes down again). Who will Gaff and Darling replace?

Happy is an understatement :thumbsu::thumbsu:

We did brilliantly.. Not only was each player best available, they will all make the transition into AFL pretty quickly.

We've now got an awesome mix, and reinforces our biggest existing playing list strength - versatility.

Lycett can be a real threat up forward, so in a few years time it'll be him and Naitanui rotating between the ruck and FF, and Darling between the forward line and midfield...and then a whole bunch of players rotating between the centre square and half-back/half-forward.

With a 3-man bench it's a massive advantage. We'll run teams off their feet (lead by Gaff!)

Fast-forward 5 years!

^ From what I've seen Lycett is an outstanding contested mark. I'd love him to spend some time up forward in the future.

Firstly I would like to congratulate myself by picking Darling and Lycett in the draft game. I really think it has been a fantastic draft by the WC we have covered a lot of bases with our picks - backman, tall marking forwards, ruck, midfield. Obviously we didn't take a small forward but we have a couple of young developing guys on our list and will no doubt pick up at least 1 small forward in the pre-season draft or rookie drafts.
Another thing with this draft as opposed to others, I would expect all these players to physically handle AFL next year, Gaff has exceptional endurance and the other 2 are built like men.
Obviously time will tell if we recruited well, but at this stage I'm as happy as a pig in shit, oh and did I mention I picked Darling and Lycett in the draft game.
