I see it but I don't believe it. What a sad way to end his career. I doubt very much he will get picked up by any other club.

Where's the crying emoticon? :(

Terrible terrible news :(. I am sure this is not the last we'll see of Nick. I guess it just goes to show the Swan's transformation capability does not work for everyone.

HE WON US THE 05 GRAND FINAL

WHY HE CANT GO IM SERIOUSLY SO UPSET

:(

I was hoping he'd get another chance but I guess this was kind of expected. I think we know where Roos' priorities lie (rightly or wrongly) with the recruiting of Shaw and the de-listing of Davis. He was an enigma who will always be remembered for that night at the SCG in September 2005.

I hope he does get picked up by another club, and if we lose O'Keefe, I wonder if the Swans would consider re-drafting him with a late pick if he's still available?

Thanks for the memories Nick!

This song always reminds me of Nick in that final quarter against Geelong, so that can be my tribute to him.

I can't say anything that I haven't already said a million times before. Players will a lot less skill than Davis have been given so many more chances, yet Nick just wasn't liked by Roos at all.

I hope someone picks him up and he proves a lot of doubters wrong in 2009.

Miss him already!

It's sad that it came to having to delist him, but quite honestly i'm glad he is gone. His attitude sucked. I want people that are 100% committed to the club and he most definitely wasn't.

If another club picks him up, then good luck to him.. if not, then thanks for all the memories - i'll never forget the night of the 05 semi, right up there as one of the best nights of my life.

2008 Really seems to have been the worst season for a supporter for a long time. Always in the news for the wrong reasons, injuries, high profile players rumored to leave and my fav player delisted. Groan!

Good luck to him I hope he gets a chance somewhere or even picked up by the swans as a late pick:thumbsu:

Will be missed at least by me.

You've made a good point, mate.
From a Swans supporter's perspective, it's been a long, weird, excrutiating season.

Sad that it came to this, Davo. Your talents deserved so much better.

Guys!
Davis was always going to be delisted by Roos! Clubs have to delist a certain amount of players to allow for the drafting of others.

Roos needs to create room on the list as a prerequisite!
Let me remind you of a player that was delisted only to be redrafted again in the PSD by the same team that delisted him. Not once actually, but twice!!

Know who I'm talking about?

Yep......................Brett Kirk!

Twice delisted by Eade who redrafted him both times. In fact I think he was also delisted elsewhere.

I've no doubt that this is the best & final way for Roos to get the best out of Davis. Whether it be for the Swans (well & good if he pulls his finger out) or another team. It's the best thing for everyone. Just keeping him on the list for another year with the same attitude won't help either party.

Now, Nick Davis faces a few months of long & hard thinking about life after football. He now REALLY faces the prospect of not being picked up by anyone. Stage one of the lesson has gone Roos' way! That is that NO ONE showed interest in Davis during trade period.
You know what that means don't you? Davis knows what it means.
It means Corrie (pick 93) >>>Davis(jacks)!

Lesson 2 for Davis will be if no club picks him up in the PSD at all but I'm sure someone will snare him. Should he pull his finger out & train hard over the pre season & should other clubs not draft him, I'm sure Roos will give him one last chance with say pick 527 in the PSD;)!

But it's ALL up to Davis & as of now, he is no longer an AFL player!
Perhaps since he was a gifted child hanging around the feet of his famous father at football clubs, has he not had this feeling. One that he has very much taken for granted.

Come on Nick Davis! Train hard & resurrect your career!
Hopefully at the Swans.

But it is the shake up he's needed because all the others didn't work!
Cheers!:)

I'm completely devo about this. Will miss ya goal kicking freakness Davo! Hope there is still redemption for you in the AFL.

ok now that im sober
still gutted
but i guess we have 2 do whats best for the team
ah i hate to think of all the games he won us of his boot its not fair

i hope of him and his new family hes gets drafted to a team that still sees the good in him....hopefully he gets picked up by us again

Anyone know if this has been 100% confirmed once again i dont want 2 believe anything thats not true

GOOD LUCK DAVO!

Thanks for the memories always!

congrats on a great career, all the best for future endeavours

definitely one of my favourite players :(

Hope he gets picked up by another club and really turns it on for the last few years of his career. If not.. then he can at least be happy he has etched himself into football history with his final quater of the 05 semi and has a premiership medal to boot.

Best of luck Nick.

Nice story, but a bit of a fairy tale unfortunately.

Kirky was cut from the Supplementary list (Rookie list) in the late 90's but has never been delisted.

Not once, not twice.....never.

Luffy was cut a few times and in recent years Monty was delisted and redrafted.

And Supp list wasn't even of the status of the current rookie list. Supp listed players couldn't play for the senior team, even if others were injured, and clubs had no right to elevate Supp listed players without going through the draft.

I am not even sure where the myth of the second "delisting" came from.

I'm always disppointed to lose a player with real skill. At least now we can focus on our core strength of gutsy guys throwing their bodies on the line to win the ball and butcher it. :o It's all about taking blows to the head. :thumbsu:
