Who is your favourite V8 Supercar driver ?

Mine is Ambrose at FORD & The Enforcer at HOLDEN

I like most of the Holden drivers and not many of the Ford one's! If I had to choose I would say Mark Skaife and I've always liked the Castrol racing team as well.

Jason Bright. He was the only Ford driver I ever liked, then I followed his Indy Lights career very closely (I didn't even know that the Indy Lights series existed before he joined). I was really disappointed when he crashed out of the Gold Coast Indy when he was in 5th.

Now that he's at HRT, the guys just a legend.

But he's got nothing on my hero - Peter Brock. In fact no one has.

No matter what driver I take a liking to it turns out they drive either a Ford ohv Cast Iron V8 piece of sh*t or a Holden ohv Cast iron V8 piece of sh*t.

Supercars ? - race 'em against the best the rest of the world has to offer then lets see how 'super' these dinosuars really are ...

Couldn't agree more. I grew up as a passionate touring car follower. Best year was 1987 with 4 competative makes and a down to the wire series final at Oran Park. Totally lost interest in 1993 when the current formula was introduced. Sh$t I don't even watch Bathurst anymore. Can anyone tell of a major tintop series (excluding single make categories) where all but a select few manufacturers are excluded from competing?

CAMS got all scared when a Nissan GTR won Bathurst in '91 and winning driver Jim Richards was booed and jeered on the podium by all the rednecks that took a victory for Nissan at Bathurst as a personal insult.

Tintop racing in Australia has never really recovered from that disgraceful episode.

And I doubt it ever will. It was a shocking decision by CAMS and truly screwed Nissan and BMW, both of whom gave much support to tin top racing.
