Not true. When you said 'The old saying sticks and stones is rubbish in any case. One can recover from a broken arm but words that hurt can last forever' it was a reply to a post about Ford being called a **** by a stranger on the internet. Then the rest of your post continued to talk about the Ford situation.
You and Chief both got yourself tangled up trying to justify Ford's actions by saying how hurtful words can be, then backtracked when faced with the implications of that argument for domestic violence. If verbal abuse is more serious than physical abuse then it should be treated as domestic violence and we would see just as many women as men charged with it. Of course that doesn't happen because verbal or emotional abuse within a relationship is not seen as an offence.

This is how it unfolded: I took issue with the statement 'Sticks and stones....' because I think that words can hurt. I had in mind family situations when I said that, and I went on to elaborate on those situations in next post.
You came along and gleefully jumped on it as a domestic violence issue.
As I had not had that in mind initially, at that point I said I will think about it.
But moving on, can you give us the stats on how many males and how many females get charged with 'verbal abuse"?

been wanting to comment on feminism, rather than semantics. there are a few things caught up in the current wave of feminism that i find to be self-defeating. i think feminism should exist, i can't begrudge a push for equality, but there is some stuff that will have to be overcome before it eats itself. or maybe that's a good thing to come out a bit better on the other side? this post might be a bit hasty, i wanted to include this as there is some chatter about closing the thread.
- censorship. more of a thing that is sweeping universities, probably moreso in the US and UK. there are legitimate reasons someone might want to shut others down (such as sarkeesian not bothering to leave an online comment section open for people to abuse her). then there are others who campaign for things like, people not to give lectures at universities. you get the impression that there is some street cred at play, some self-congratulation, when you can have germaine greer barred from speaking at your university - look how much truer to feminism we are, germaine you are old hat. of course people and opinions can change and she may well have mellowed to the point of being at odds with the current wave, but the underlying point is of barring someone from speaking, disallowing intellectual discourse doesn't strike me as a particularly healthy, or long-term achievable practice.
- trigger warnings. i think this possibly stems from living amongst the litigiousness of certain societies rather than being anything like a core value of feminism itself, but it's become a part of it. somewhat related to the above. on the surface it makes sense - protect people who possibly have PTSD issues. on the other hand, you have university students shielding themselves from information pivotal to their education - a kind of self-smothering. you could make an argument that the more you shield yourself from written imagery, the longer it takes to overcome issues around it. there's also some issues with being arbiters of what should and shouldn't be given trigger warnings - at its heart, are there people who want to control what you read and write?
- intersectionality. i find this as fascinating as i find it confusing. again on the surface, it makes sense, certain races might have it easier than others. on the other hand, feminists have become pitted against themselves in a race to some kind of moral high ground where they've decided to segregate themselves. feminists telling other feminists to check their privileges?

It is interesting because we have gone to discussing the terms immodest and provocative and ended up with your perception of teenage girls.
I am assuming that you or your friends do not have teenage girls, if I am wrong would be interested what they think of your description of them.
No I don't know you nor do I wish to, however sometimes what a person writes seems a good place to start of the type of person I wouldn't want to know in real life.
