CARLTON full-forward Brendan Fevola may have played his last game for the Blues. And there's been a call to make him a Crow.
Fevola has been suspended from this week's match against Melbourne and has been told to "go away and think about things''.
The decision follows his dismal performance on the weekend against Fremantle plus what the club described as issues with his playing attitude.
Carlton chief executive Greg Swann conceded the flamboyant Blue may have played his last game for the club.
Meanwhile, respected high-profile football commentator Mike Sheahan has suggested Fevola may be best served by joining a new club - with Adelaide the best fit.
Sheahan said the turbulent Carlton-Brendan Fevola relationship was "at breaking point. "
"Fevola's black day in Perth on Saturday started with repeat 50m penalties from the same incident, and went downhill from there," Sheahan wrote.
"He finished with one goal from just seven kicks, giving him 39 for the season (13 games), but a mere nine from the past five outings. "
Sheahan said Carlton should trade the forward while he still has some value.
He pinpointed Adelaide, the Western Bulldogs and West Coast as teams which could be interested in the 26-year-old.
"Adelaide might be the best fit. He needs to go to a strong club, where he must fit in or be ostracised,'' Sheahan wroteon the Herald Sun website.
"The only thing the Crows haven't been able to do in recent years is kick goals; the one thing Fevola can do is kick goals.
"Tony Lockett and Barry Hall both became far more settled and consistent after moving to Sydney; Fevola also might blossom in new surrounds. "
One thing is certain - Fevola is not blossoming for Carlton.more...
