Can't base too much from a 6 min demo though...but im on a non HD tv as well so soon as i get the chance ill play it on the other tv....

Did you stuff up the registration process or something? Because I got mine within 24 hours and so did a mate.

LOL, not again! Same thing happened in the first 5+ months of FIFA 09 for most, wasn't rectified until I started uploading them for Trophy getting purposes.

If this happens again it will be a disaster. Why put a broken feature in the game?

I don't mind it uploading to a server as it makes it far easier to share, just have the ****en thing work properly that's all I ask.

An option to be able to save to the HDD or to the EASportsfootball website would be good though.

Just downloaded the demo and played for a bit. Haven't played a soccer game since probably fifa 96, so it has been a while.

Was fun, enjoyed it. Disappointed you can no longer slide tackle the goalie, oh well.

haha yeah I remember doing that in World Cup 98. Yeah ever since they brought in FIFA fair play, they're are several changes to the game.

FIFA 10 GAMEPLAY IMPRESSIONS
Ok, let’s get straight into some heavily hyped new features…are they as good as the reviewers say?

360 dribbing
First game I chose Arsenal and kicked off, passed back to Fabregas and started moving. What followed immediately was the first of many OMG’s. Personally, before today, I was skeptical about 360 dribbing, as far as I could tell in Fifa 09, I could move in any direction I wanted to, not just 8 ways. The first few steps Fabregas took blew that out of the water – he actually moved his body for every little amount of pressure I put on the left thumbstick, whatever angle I moved it.

Quick Free Kicks
That reminds me, if you are given a free kick and are near the ball, your player will put his hand on the ball, while the action continues around him, and if you want, you can quickly get on with play and catch your opponent napping. I know this has been in PES for a while, but seeing it used in Fifa was a dream come true for someone that has always detested free kicks and wanting to get on with the game quickly without giving the ball away.

1 v 1 / Goalkeeping
I cant finish 1v1’s anymore. I played all the guys at EA who have been playing it for months, and they couldnt finish them either. The goalkeepers are now AWESOME. I tried casually walking up to the keeper and chipping as he dived at my feet – no good. I tried running diagonal across him and finessing it to the far corner – no good, he will save it or you will MISS (even with top players). I tried blasting it – no good (still miss). You really need to unlock the defense to such an extent that you have someone unmarked to pass to as you draw the keeper. If you are successful at chipping the keeper, and he gets a hand to it, with the ball bouncing in front of goal – the keeper will “accidently” take your striker out as you race towards the ball, leaving you both on the ground as the defense rushes back to clean up. This will make attacking teams angry, but after all, a scramble is a scramble.

played the demo last night and i must say it is definetly a step up. 360 degree dribbling is a joy. The game feels more realistic now just because of it. So much easier to run into gaps or do quick turns.

Players are also more intelligent on both sides. AI play smarter football, working the ball around until they find gaps while your players move into good positions to offer support or runs.

The new jostling system improves the game also. You could have Del Piero running through on goal and then Carvalho comes in and jostles and wins the ball. It forces you to turn and lay the ball to someone else or go into a different direction.

Keepers/Defenders are also much smarter. If i take a strike from anywhere, if a defender is in the way, they will jump to try and stop the ball. Just makes it feel so realistic. Samewith keepers. They will try anything.

Overall, based on the 6 min demo, is pretty close to a 5 just based on gameplay.

Agree right there. They appear to actually run into position for the through ball, they really seem so much smarter now instead of just standing there or running into you. Impressed and good to see that its 3 builds or whatever old, can only get better.

By the way - is anyone trading there fifa 09 in to get like..i dunno like 20-30 off? I dont know if I will just curious to see what others do, im kinda poor so i might haha

Unbelievable demo. Just fantastic. I'd right a more in depth review, but I am getting withdrawals and need to go back and play some more. Played 10 games and every one was different. No tow goals were the sam. I saw things in this demo that I'd never seen in a football game before.

Will report more later when I can really rattle everything off.

I was pretty pissed off with the fact that the demo is played at dusk, i hate playing at dusk and I couldnt figure out how to change my controls after that initial screen.

- 360 dribbling is pretty mad.
- Shots at goal come off A LOT quicker and flatter as they should.
- Quick free kicks, i only saw one, but the dude got up, held his hand against the ball to hold it still and then kicked it just as he moved his hand away.
- The jostling system is the biggest change IMO. The game really feels more physical now, you can be passed the ball and a defender can simply nudge you from behind and make you lose control of it.
- The GK I havent really noticed yet, I did notice they are much more willing to attack.
- Celebrations have improved.
- And just all out animations of the players are improved 10 fold, they pass differently every time, if they are unblanced when tackle and you attempt you regain control they will fall over.

HBK you seem to be knowledgeable in this area. I am not sure if it was you I think it was but there was a "buy 1 EA sports title get $25 dollars off another" if I got FIFA '10 and then got another copy (for a mate) would it still work? Also if I were to preorder it, could I bring in Fifa 09 and do that deal by preordering it? for example

Lets say fifa 09 is worth like $20.

$89 + $89 = 178 - 25 = 153 then fifa 09 trade in - 20 = 133
Would that be OK do you think?
