Got this game the other day. First time I've bought a FIFA game in many years but loving it so far.

Just a question for you experts... I like to create opportunities using a lot of through balls with 3 up front... whats the best team to play as using this tactic? I've been playing a bit as Barca with Messi, Villa and Adriano which works well.

****ing hard to score which I like and hate at the same time haha. Gotta take ur opportunities when they present themselves just like in real life! :p

Played a bit online but generally just honing my skills a bit against the computer before I take on the heavyweights in cyberspace. ;)
 
Apparently there is a glitch in manager mode that all your cup draws are drawn in alphabetical order :thumbsd:

Yes I have noticed that. I seem to have the same draw for League Cup and FA Cup but I think it goes division by division. The first draw has always had Villa vs Arsenal, City vs United etc and Cardiff always draw Swansea. Bit annoying but not as bad as the manager mode bugs from last year.

I do the same as you. I don't like playing as barca/real because they're both just too good imo.

Been playing differently and playing as tottenham, Defoe is really fast and crouch is massive. lots of crosses and you go well. but defense lacks.

Portugal is pretty good with Christiano too. he's bloody fast

That would make sense, as I have been drawn Chelsea for the start of both the FA and League Cups. I've played in 6 cup games, and only one of them wasn't against a member of the 'big 4'. Very annoying.

Damn can't be too hard to fix.. Anyone know if a patch will come soon? Won't be starting manager mode until it's fixed.
 
Pretty sure the same thing happens if you start a stand-alone FA Cup as well. I've played two of those with mates before and the draws looked the same as those in my Cardiff player-manager career.

I don't know, I'd be surprised if they patch CM anytime soon. It's certainly not a game breaker, as CM is a vast improvement on last year's shambles. Just an annoyance really.
 
How do I delete Custom Tactics and formations?

Nevermind got it. Delete hospitality settings and reboot.
 
As much as I love this game, player growth in career mode seems to be totally stuffed.

I signed M'Vila from Rennes, a 20 year old, and within weeks of joining, he has lost 4 points from his overall (76 to 72). Another young kid I've got has gone down two points, whilst Trezeguet has also gone down a couple of points within the space of 10 games, even though he is scoring regularly.

Moreover, none of my players have improved to counter-balance this negative growth.

Do others have the same issue?

Thats fast as! Best I can do at the moment is 1.86 seconds.

Also agreed with the player growth. Ive played Willshere, Ramsey, Gibbs every game so far (maybe 15-20 games into the season) and they have not gained any overall points at all.
The only player I have been able to improve on is Chamahk, after he got a few hat tricks in a row. Even though he has more than double the amount of goals than matches he has played in.
 
Simmed most of the year and got promoted, now the challenge starts of getting promoted to the epl. I'm doing some serious wheeling and dealing. Signed a few players in the 70's so far :thumbsu:
 
Wonder by Dan Black my favorite tune off the Soundtrack at the moment. Massive n00b question but I don't understand all this fastest arena goal jibberish. What's the go, ho?

My players are only improving so far. Playing as FC Koln in the Bundesliga I've had Podolski improve with some great form in the midfield (scored about 6 goals in 12 matches) and a signing has improved too (leading the comp in goals).

Probably haven't played a huge amount of matches to exactly get anything more or less yet (only played around 10-12 games).

It's basically just a little bit of friendly competition stat keeping.

At the main menu you can hit R1 or L1 (whatever the comparison is on the 360) and it will cycle through various stats relating to the game. There's stats for longest goal, fastest goal, Career mode money earnt and all sorts of other rankings. You can hit R2 or L2 (again whatever the comparison is on the 360) and it will cycle through the various sub categories from that (Fastest goal on certain difficulties, etc.).

The fastest goal in the arena is the opening arena when you start up the match pre-main menu and the fastest goal is recorded whenever the play restarts.
 
I'm having no issues Cannons with player growth, 3-4 or my players have gone up one point while only 1 has gone down (who i never played).
Some how managed to get to league cup final against Man U. Only decent team i played was Fulham in the semi finals and was just able to beat them.

Started a virtual pro or career mode. First game; BANG! 8 week injury. Had to slowly sim throw each week/game as I saw no faster way to skip them all. Then after the 8 weeks started my second game.

In my first 2 games the opposition had 3 penalties for 0 goals (on World Class) and I had 2 penalties for 2 goals. (They'd also made my guy the penalty taker :)) I reckon I'm getting maybe 3/4 handballs a game and they can be match changing. Tried the first 4 or 5 games in virtual pro view but couldn't get enough of the ball. Literally 3 quarters of the game was spent in our own half and me being a striker had no chance to get the bloody thing. Also lost points for just moving to get the ball!

Looks like controlling the squad is a better move but I think I'm better of doing a manager mode too as my team just sucks and it's so hard to play better individually if your team mates just run at the defenders and try random tricks...

You can skip weeks at a time by using calender. Automatically sims games.
 
This game has quite a few flaws I have to say.
Not that im complaining. First season as Liverpool and my goal was to finish top 2. Ended up finishing 3rd on World Class, thought my head was on the chopping block. Nope the board was really impressed, gave me 20mil extra to spend on transfers.
My team is looking pretty good now, got rid of all the hacks.
Id recommend taking a look at Biabiany from Inter. Young, cheap and ridiculously fast :thumbsu:
the game is pretty life like though, Torres out for another 5 weeks. Missed heaps of games last season with injury as well. Thank god for Suarez
